This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

To the author:

Any chance you would consider making the Herbalism, Mining, Fishing and Gas Extracting modules a default part of this mod? What I love about Cartographer is that it replaced Atlas, Gatherer and MapNotes in one mod but the gathering modules still haven't been updated for Wrath and I really don't want to have to use a different gathering node map mod.

Quest helper will not load because it is afraid of corrupting my save data. I deleted all of my old files, made sure the new files were in the right folder and tried again. Same thing. Whenever I try /qh error it gives me a list of slash commands, ans /qh hardreset does the same thing.

how do you zoom out?

and is there a fix for looking at other areas on the map?

Technically it's not zoom out that is broken. It's the strata in Look 'n' Feel that is not working right. You can't seem to get the map window to be the top layer, therefore you can't right click on the map.

Try and hold the left mouse button down and dragging the mouse from side to side. You'll notice that all you do is panning the camera.

temp solution is to just select the zone at the top. you can still see other zones that way.

not even a temp. solution, because if you fly in another area, the map not(!) refreshes :-(. Hope there will be a working update soon.

On this note, can you make it an option to NOT automatically switch zones when entering while the map is open? I hate looking for something while I'm flying, I have it almost pinned down, finger moving inexorably towards the right mouse button to set a waypoint and BAM! The map changes because I flew into a new zone >.< ARRRGGGGG!

Nothing works. No foglight, coordinates, zoom out/in, see zone level, nothing. Also, "screw" icon on round minimap in upper right corner can't be moved, is on top of button used for getting drop down for find minerals, etc. Can get drop down menu on map to look at individual zones and cities by choosing them from the list, but that's the only way. Can't zoom out and click on them.

OK well this is still pretty borked. First off I had to redo the file structure jsut to get WoW to see the add-on, I had to put all the folders within the Cartagrapher folder, then that folder into add-ons. Next foglight works, but you can't zoom or do anything else other then see the map. THe other cart add-on also don't work. We can only hope this gets fixed, cart and the herb and mining add-on are some of my favs.

The addon still has waypoint issues. which is the main reason I use it. It also has issues with being recognized by the game as a viable addon. So no waypoints and a .lua error every time I open the map. Many issues need to be fixed with this. Keep up the good work but it needs a lot of work.

I put theCartographer folder into \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ but it's still not working :/
Can someone help?
