This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Cartographer_Waypoints has a file named "WayPoint.lua", but the toc asks for "Waypoint.lua". Not everyone's filesystem is case-insensitive...

I don't know about the dependency thing, but module names in red only mean the module is LoD (load on demand). That doesn't mean it's out of date, as is a common misconception.

I am out of options, and really need help with the following mods:

Quartz
Pitbull
Cartographer

The problem is as follows:
Clicking the addons button on the character screen, shows the above mentioned mods, with all it's modules in RED, saying dependency missing, and as the dependency, written the name of the mod ie. Pitbull. The confusing thing is all the people for which the mods are actually working, since I've tried absolutely everything, deleting "Interface" and "WTF" countless times, and going from scratch, with no difference at all :( I have seen 3 or 4 posts with the same problem, with no response...

Please help me fix this issue, I haven't played the game at all since the patch, because without those 3 mods, WoW just isn't WoW. Thanks for creating them, and thanks in advance for the replies (if I get any),

Idk if anyone else has had this problem, but Cartographer isnt loading at all for me. I dont even get an error message. Just thought i would bring it up.

bottom line.. cartographer is broken.. we all know this. im sure they are working on it. if its interfering with your quest helper disable cartographer POI in your add-ons menu that should restore your waypoint so you can do you quests until the maps are fixed. worked for mine.. hang in there everyone it will be back to normal soon :)

I know this comment list is nothing but problems with Cartographer since the 3.0.2 patch. People don't seem to understand that it takes a while to fix these things, if the devs even know it's broken. There's a chance they haven't gotten on Warcraft to get the patch yet.
Anyway, I have a little problem that hasn't been brought up yet, and I'm needing to know if it's just me or not.
I can't see my party members on the map. The mini map shows them just fine, but the normal map does not. Is this happening to anyone else??

I can't see any chat at all besides say/yell bubbles if I'm close enough to see the player/npc, no skill up and or anything you receive like loot or rep doesn't show up at all. My general chat window has nothing but the GMOTD and "Cartographer_Import: Done importing notes." the whole time I'm logged in till I uncheck cart :( .

I downloaded it and tried to run it and it says that it is still out of date and wont load. what am I doing wrong.

I agree Cart 3 is to beta right now, fix what works and then work on Cart 3 to make it better, its still not were ready for a release out of beta. Tried using it and it was so confusing and distracting.

I am having the same problem of not being able to zoom out via right-clicking the mouse. Please fix! I hate Cartographer 3.

I can't zoom out of the map by using right-click.

Also get an error relating to the POI in the Atlas_Titan folder on login.

I cant get Cartographer to work properly, the last time i tried didnt let me see the other maps unless i choose them myself from the menu. Also is no longer working well with QuestHelper.
