This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

I am having a problem with this on one of my alt's. The map does not seem to be unlocked.This works on all my others but when I go on to my Mage(alt) the map is not all unlocked any idea to fix this..

I just tested it further and if you have foglight on it casuses this issue if you turn off foglight it corrects it. I hope this information helps you find the problem

I am having the same issue as the person who reported it on 11/23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open zone Map (shift-m) (small map located in the lower right cornor) you can see all the areas just in a small version however once you :

2. Open world Map (M) The large world map you can not see areas in small map

Results: opening and closing world map, zone map is blank (as if you had not explored anything)

Do not try it in city or town be out somewhere

I am using v2.3.6a

its ctrl right click. Also, if you look at the top left corner of the map you see teh legend ( instructions) :p. If you dont see tehm try turning up the transparency.

Is there any documentation available on the use of Cartographer? So far I haven't been able to find any instructions in the download.

Professions: A lot of people have been asking about professions. Whilst I will not guarantee anything, I will try to work on a full professions map system for Cartographer 2.5

My english isnt very well, does this (above) mean that cartographer gets the functionality of:
_ExtractGas
_Fishing
_Herbalism
_Mining_
_Treasure
_Opening

?
It would be so wonderful, to have a cartographer version with in this functionality :-)

install gathermate and gathermate_data for those things you list, gets along fine with cartographer too.

The person that wrote those modules discontinued them and wrote GatherMate. Use GatherMate, the profession modules are dead.

In Naxx, all the loot from bosses is the level 60 loot. How do I fix this? Will there be loot added to Dungeons too? All I see in dungeons is the map.

eh that was a bug that was fixed weeks if not months ago. make sure you remove all the old folders before upgrading cause I know from what i saw that i had 2 left over folders from an older cart version that are no longer in package. I'd also check for outdated or discontinued 3rd party plugins.

also if you installed 3.0 alpha, 2.0 can still cause the problem you are describing if you have an old version

Not sure if this has come up or not but ever since I updated for 3.0 I have had blue notes marking every city/point of interest. I tried deleting them, but every time I reopen the map, they are there again. Is there a way I can turn these off?

dalaran is not 100% fixed, only the surface was fixed, it still gets crazy screwed up when you go into sewers. The fix needs to be applied there as well.

Just had a quick qustion about using Cart. along with Gathermate and Handynotes. Assuming I use Gathermate for Gas/Herbs/Mining... and HandyNotes for trainers etc...Could I delete Cartographer_Notes and Cartographer_Professions (to save a bit of memory)? Im assuming the other two previously mentioned addons replace the functions of those 2 Cart. modules, but am not 100%, so wanted to check here first. Any helpis greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Professions isnt really sued right now, POI isnt too usefull either.
Neither use up much memory though, perhaps POI might use a little, but mainly its the instance maps that use the memory.

Hey!
Can we get another update to Cartographer(2), just to get all the new embedded library versions included.
I am slowly having to disable more and more parts of Cartographer to be able to log in to WoW at all and I notice that many of the libraries in the libs folders have had releases since the current version was updated.
