This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Your welcome, i was as relieved as you when i got this working version too. I can't believe this site wont link this one up???? Why continue to offer a completely busted version?

Come one ppl. Don't be mean about Cartographer 3 its very early development and is in its self an amazing bit of coding. ckknight has made an amazing addon over the years and you yourselfs are prity much saying that Cartographer 2 (this one) is perfect the way it is. So all it needs is someone to keep it up with the new code and with a bit of time anyone capable of creating addons should be able to do that. I am sure ckknight is not going to stop someone from taking over if he wants to move onto the new version. You never know how V3 will end up in a few years! You may be fighting ckknight to keep that version again when he decides to move on! ;-)
Remember no point in wasting his talant maintaining this addon when so many ppl can do that... let him move on to new and better things! ;-)

noob here, I clicked on the link "http://www.wowace.com/projects/cartographer/files/ " and the only option I have to download it brings me back to this page. Is there something that I missed.

Get latest version from http://www.wowace.com/projects/cartographer/files/
At r2261 at the moment of writing. TOC's are updated and notes seem to work now.

I can't stand this. I started wow using meta map, but was forced to switch to something else after it didn't get updated anymore (for ages). Now I got cartographer and I really LOVE it. Just like (afaik) EVERYONE does, and now it might not be continued anymore. /cry

I don't see CG3 as a replacement. It's flashy and looks nice, but it's kinda like getting a Ferrari when you really need a van..

I sincerely hope that you continue on this addon. Because Cartographer 3 is, excuse me, shitty. The design is annoying. QH doesn't work properly (yeah I know - experimental, but still).

Latest revision r2261 seems to work ok, please try it out and post any errors here.
Update: InstanceNotes seems still bugged (no error yet non-functional), otherwise runs nicely again.

At first i dled the new cartographer and everything was out of date. then i deleted it and dled the http://niodesign.com/Cartographer/Cartographer3.0.2.fix.rar link. But now it lets me zoom otu but when i click on a a different zone it brings me right back to where to booty bay..
Help?

Cartographer is one of the best addons around in my opinion. Please continue development. What seems to be the problem? Maybe I can help.

The fixed one that someone posted works perfect on one toon but not the other. Most likely an issue with one being on Org the other in Outland. The outland one is the one having the issue.

Also please save this Cartographer, Version 3 is not very good at all, it's far too distracting and misses the mark entirely of why we all love Cartographer. If your going to discontinue anything deep six Version 3.

Thanks for all the hoard work everyone, Im still having one issue. There were two different quest addons for cartographer. One remembered quests you did and saved the information (this is not the one im curious about.) The other one is http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info9020-Cartographer_QuestInfo.html. Is there anyway we can get his updated. I dont care about the database even as much right now I just really miss the look of the quest log.
