Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

So I tried this version of Cartographer out and I am not sure if I like it or not. It is really cool looking and all but I don't know if I like having to zoom and drag my windows around to find the map I want. Is there no way to have a drop down for a quick jump to the map you are looking for like in Cartographer 2? Aside from that one feature I do like this version.

Cart 3 is very nice. Takes a wee bit to get used to the zoom and focus but once I did I really like it.

Great work here.

realy nice addon !

NOtes: i can add notes on map but i cant remove or edit them. when i try to remove or edit nothing happen, no error, nothing ^^

I really like Cart3... Cool stuff. What I miss, though, are instance maps. In the screenshot section I can see that they should be implemented, but... the addon can't seem to find any. Thoughts?

Is there a possibilty to reset CG3? I've drawn the window too big and can't resize it now because the borders at the left and right aren't showed.

Marblex, you talk like Cartographer2 is dead. It isn't. So feel free to continue using Cartographer2 :) You can find it on curse also.

Sadly, this, like Auctioneer, is another formerly awesome mod that has been completely ruined by too much tinkering. Not only is Cart3 horrible compared to Cart2, but it is so cumbersome that many of the new "features" don't work or interfere with other functioning mods.

Mapster is my new map replacement of choice, along with GatherMate. Together these two addons do the job I used to rely on Cartographer to do. Sorry, but the old version was MUCH better.

I made an account just to respond here. I came here just hoping for some answers I had about Cartographer 3, thinking it was just the new patch-compliant version of Cartographer, and that 2 was gone. 2 is back on my computer now, and I think I teared up a little in joy. Thanks to you both!

Cart3 is not the upgrade to Cart2.

Cart3 is a totally new map mod that has a different style.

Like cart2? stick with that then.

please fix the map like it was,google like ingame map is really bad. I dont like it a bit. make it static not dynamic please.

For some reason Cartographer isn't showing my unexplored areas. It' not just black, it's like the normal map.

Change the default color in the config. White is the default and it's transparent, change to pink or something and your unexplored areas will be light pink

I have a suggestion about zooming. While the topographic map is extremely useful on ordinary zones, it is not really that in cities, which already have a detailed and pretty map. However, to make city map stay standard (non topographic), one have to turn the zoom slider very far to the left. That makes the topographic map to show only on very high zoom also on standard zones, essentially making the full topographic map very rarely used (as one have to zoom in very close for it to appear).

The question is: can city zoom level be treated differently from other zones?

Maybe i'm missing something in the settings... But have you tried zooming in to TB, for instance, on a zoom level which makes a larger zone, like Feralas, topographic?
