Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

When im looking at a bg map like AB or EotS it shows the node points as a cluster of marks from AB, it shows the stables icon, farm, bs, and mine all clustered into one little icon as each node.

Any way to restore the old note points but keep everything else the same?

rgunty: Download GatherMate and GatherMate_Data. Those will add the nodes onto Cartographer and the Minimap for you.

i miss not seeing my mining lit where there is a chance of finding ore.
i miss on world map seeing levels for area. i loved cartographer 2 i miss c2

for me when i zoom in, once i get in close it doesn't show the actual terrain, it just goes to a deep blue color when it transitions from the original map. is there any way to fix this? over all great addon though.

I have the same problem where the terrain does not show when zooming in, no matter the distance setting. It worked when I had 3.0 v0.10, but does not work with v0.10.2 (I have not tried to roll back, as 0.10 had a lot of problems for me).

Doesn't look like the skulls for the current world event are supported, I have to disable Cartographer to see them. I'll submit a ticket.

Ok, so I can't seem to figure it out.

How do I move the waypoint arrow? It used to be Alt+drag but it's not working.

I am liking this, can you design the instance addition to be where you zoom into the location of the instance on world map and it then zoom into the instance map it's self.

Again also loot info, maybe a whole mess of Wowhead data implemented in this, it would be sweet. I look forward to the future of this Mod. Almost a 3 dimensional interaction with data for the game in-game.

The ONLY thing stopping me from using this mod is the missing minimap textures and missing instance maps. Otherwise, this mod is head and shoulders above the rest for my usage.

yeah im lvling my character up right now so im gonna stick with this one. love how quest helper shows quest status across different regions with this one compared to the other. also the biggest thing is, there are NO INSTANCE MAPS! plz fix this and you will rock!

i also switched back to cartographer 2 as there is a 3.0.2 version now

as cymmeron said cartographer 3 is a good and nice piece of work !!!

but for me looking at an region is hurting my eyes with this not sharp areas
(i.e. the sea) around, it feels like the eyes can't focus, it's a pain
for me ...

yes dragging and scrolling is easy ... but navigation with left / right
mouse click is much faster !

and yes i found out that you can double click a region to get there,
but i always had to do some re-positioning etc.

Just some random feedback. As a longtime user of Cartographer I have to say in all honesty, I do not like this version at all. It's a novel idea and will likely catch on with certain people, but I just can not use it. 1. I like to have my battleground maps and my world map completely separate. I don't want them in the same window. And if I detach Cart 3 from the world map, it negates the purpose for using a map addon in the first place because I am again reduced to the regular HUGE world map. Another thing is that it's way too small. I can't see it. I'm old, and as such I don't see things like I used to. Yes, I know it's scaleable, but again.....battlemap being attached to this makes it a moot point because in a BG, I need to know where my team is, what is capped, what isn't, and I don't want the battlemap portion to be scaled the same way as the world map. No right click function for zooming out, no way switch zones while in another zone, etc. I realize this is an experimental version, but I seriously hope that this isn't a version that makes it to release or at least doesn't replace the regular Cartographer. I want to say thank you for your work on the addons you create, I think they're wonderful as a general rule. Thanks.

While battleground & world map seperately could be a proper suggestion, the other things are simply not true. It CAN'T be too small, it can be any size you want and if it's to small you have to buy a bigger monitor as addons can't fix that problem for you (it can be same size as old cartographer). You EASILY zoom in and out with your mouse wheel and you can easily switch zones by "dragging" the map, the functions which you are missing(?) are actually in there and are my favourite in this version.

i like this new cartographer but when i go to a bg it looks wierd. The towers are just strange, AV is all messed up. For this kind of thing the old one is better. But i'll keep this one hoping this problems get fixed. Keep doing the great job.

Is there a way to color the unexplored areas differently than the normal map? That way the exploration of zones could be easier, especially when trying to find those small areas of the map.

But that used to work before, it must have preached them somehow. Did blizzard suddenly change something?
