umm well i think this version suks i am having problems trying to see out side of what ever continent i am on! i liked the old one better.

I actually like where you're going with Cartographer 3 and I think when it's better developed it'll be rad. My only gripe is the discontinuity of the different continents when you're zoomed out. The ocean abruptly ending into a grey square..and the areas around the edge that become blurred are just really weird to look at. It would be nice to have a blended ocean texture between and to the sides of the areas so that its more easy on the eyes when you're dragging it around. Also along the same lines itd be cool if the areas around the area you're focused on unblur as well so that as you drag into the next area your eyes dont have to adjust to an area unblurring. I just think its all a little weird to look at and thats why people are finding it hard to adjust to visually. Because.. I mean zooming in and out and being able to drag into the next zone is actually pretty rad when you think about it

In either case... 2x or 3x. Thank you so much. Cartographer is essential and I hope you get some updated versions up so us unworthy folk can enjoy wow again. *yes enjoy wow because cartographer is that good* Thank you!

I think this looks great and on that score I like it much better than the previous version. The only catch for me is that I am also used to the large variety of plug-ins available for the previous version. They don't seem to work though. As noted in other posts, the config button does not work. It throws an error and that's it. The specific error from Buggrabber is:

I really like this version, I know that a few things have to be fixed after the patch....but they worked before the patch :)

What database works with Cart. version 3?

while cartographer 2.x is definitely broken for me now, I tried this 3.x versions which is nice (even if I was really used to my classic/old one...) ; but the preferences simply don't work. Also, is it possible to get the bunch of old notes from 2.x to work?

dislike this new version, an update to the previous would be appreciated!

I just dislike the new cartographer, and having read nearly every post here,it seems I'm not the only one (yes I posted before).
Why don't you just put cart2 back to work as cartlite?
Or give it to somebody who develops it further.
As for now, anyone that has a really good alternative to cart2? Atlas is only for Instances and such, not for the normal map.

don't like the new one at all, and when I went back to the old one it was completely broken.

I have to say, the new interface style is pretty baddass. I flipped when I installed this today. I'm sure it's got lots of things people won't like compared to a previous version but that's the cost of trying something new.

I particularly like how it integrates my gatherdata when I mouse over a particular zone and it shows me my notes and nodes for that zone. It will take some getting used to but I think once I adjust I will like this new version a lot better.

I can't even finish typing this comment and I find new features like drag around the map to move the view and scroll wheel zooming, it's like christmas morning :)

I HATE this thing, sorry, but fix the old one please.

POI module completely crushes my game. Even if all other addons are disabled.

I also prefer the previous version.

Some more helpful information about problems opening the Configuration menu:

From the map or using /cartographer, I get the LUA error: "Interface\AddOns\Cartographer3\Main.lua: 2286: attempt to call global 'InterfaceOptionsFrame_OpenToFrame' (a nil value)."

I also have GatherMate installed, I dunno if that affects things.

More information: I've unloaded ALL my mods except Cartographer, and I'm getting the same error.
