Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

I have to agree with everyone. I have never seen anything like this addon, and I recommend it to everyone that I talk to. I would love it if you updated it, and kept us informed on your progress with this. You have a damn good thing going here, and I would hate to see it become unrelaible.

I hate to be a pain in the butt, but I am having trouble (Not being able to) see Dalaran on the map. Perhaps you could place it in it's own separate little zone like you did for battlegrounds, since the city is above a zone. Ore maybe set it so that if you click on the grey city mark that is on the screen, it will zoom you in, like with Major cities, such as Ironforge, and Stormwind.
(Can we tell that I play Alliance? Lol)

ckk, now wotlk is released it would be nice you put more attention on this project rather than the old one or libraries.. lots of ppl are waiting for this nice baby to grow, did you abandoned the project ? that's just strange this one is not in your priority list.

Status please, when can we expect even an Alpha or beta update?
This is the best by far map add-on out there, much better than BLizz's original, but it's gonna lose credibility without some updating..

currently in the current version there are the realm circles left over from the blizzard map ui would it be possible in a future update to remove those so that they do not interfere with functionality.

I get the same issue, and when my mouse is in those circles, I can't drag my map, or do anything at all(add notes/waypoints, whatever). Just popped up in the last patch or 2. Not even sure what that overlay signifies.

I get it occasionally too. It's the rollover glow effect from the original world map showing through. I can usually get rid of it with a reload. Hope it gets fixed soon. Need a map for Dalaran too.

yes GatherMate + GatherMate_Data does this, it adds the required level under all lores when you mouseover it.

Really hoping focus is taken off cartographer 2 and moved to this version. Even with it's faults I still choose this version over the older version.

The notes are broken. You can't make one until you close the map, can't remove them, and can't edit them. There are also large portions of the northrend map missing from some areas, particularly zul'drak.

Do you want to fixe the InstancePortalPOIs.lua bug ?

open that file and goto line 99

Find

poi.name = L["%s Entrance"]:format(instance)

Replace to

if (type(instance) == "string") then poi.name = L["%s Entrance"]:format(instance) end

Yes but this is the job of GatherMate and GatherMate_Data, it works fine with carto2 and 3

this problem i have than i have active Carbonite ;)

i deaktivated carbonite and no crash...
i have the old cartographer 2.x
and update it now

I'm pretty sure this addon is at fault as I don't seem to have the problem if I disable it.

Replying to second this- Cartographer 3 can definitely cause WoW lockups/crashes- reproducable (at least on my end) 100% of the time when leaving Dalaran.

Sucks, because this is an otherwise incredible addon.

nor if thats not your rams this is because this is still experimental build like an alpha stage I guess, dalaran is not yet added so bacisally anything could happen if the author didnt checked it first.
