Cartographer
CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!
DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!
There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.
Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.
- Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
- Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
- Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
- Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
- Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
- Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
- Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
- Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
- Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).
When right clicking on the default ui map, you start going up. You start at the zone level (showing for instance The Barrens), then go up to continent level (showing Kalimdor), then go up to planet level (Showing Kalimdor, Northrend, and the EK) and finally go "galaxy" showing the globes which represent Outlands and Azeroth. If you're in Outland the continent and planet view are the same, since that's all that's left of Draenor.
The problem is that Cartographer never goes up to that "galaxy" level. This makes viewing an Azeroth zone while in Outland (for example, trying to see what areas are being invaded by the Scourge) impossible.
I hope this helps solve this strange bug. Thanks for maintaining Cart2, since while Cart3 is neat it's a bit weird.
So, seems to me like it's a bug with the Look and Feel add-on included in cartographer. It was working fine pre-3.0, but all post-3.0 versions I've tried have had this same problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. In the mean time, I'd recommend disabling look and feel, and just deal with it till it's fixed.
2nding Fanli0902, usually I can find addons np, but can't find any herb/mining addons today :(
its a complete and fresh installiation in the mean while, too.
I'm using the newest cartographer, but right click simply doesnt work!
It's nice to read that for some of you it is working, but simply not on my side. Further on, i dont know anyone on my realm where it is working.
Have i mentioned that i am using the german client? may be this might be a problem.
still have ?s for most of my icons... and adding new notes only options are the raid icons
What i have noticed is: If i mouve around my mousebutton on the cartographer map, i get the tooltips of the world behin it.
Is it possibel, that the frame isnt registered right (or something like this), so the game does not notice that the mouse is inside of an addon?
