I asked a question in the BigWigs discord, but though I should ask here too. Is there a way to translate the Chinese into English. It seems that the chinese over rides the English when it is announced by someone (in any language BUT English).
Do you mean the romanization or translating of Chinese? Romanization would be possible but make the addon way bigger and complicated. While translation would be almost impossibly difficult é”兽世界 → Móshòu Shìjiè (romanization) é”兽世界 → World of Warcraft (translation)
What i Mean is, normally I see the ENGLISH announcements with Big Wigs, but when I am in a group with people who use Chinese as their main language (often people from Illidan) I just see Chinese Characters. I would like is to have the add-on to show English.
It can't be that difficult to translate this stuff. It's all just text strings which are being generated by the add on itself. If you're making the add on, the add on knows what it's announcing from a Chinese Player to tell everyone in the raid that they have "debuff x". It doesn't help anyone to who doesn't speak Chinese to see that announcement in Chinese characters. The add-on should be able to identify the string of Chinese characters that announces "debuff x" and show it to me in English so I can actually understand what's going on.
Either that, or if BlockChinese would actually just hide all Chinese characters properly that would be great. I don't understand why Blizzard thinks it's okay to put people into groups who can't event talk to each other in the same language. It's so annoying!
I am very grateful for this addon, my server (Frostmourne-Oceanic/US) started to fill up slowly with the Asian text and I have gotten the addon to block and worked well :D Wish more people would get it so that they won't complain in trade chat all the time about the wall of spam from the Asian text. The only issue some may get are items being linked in the Asian text with English in the same sentence, which is fine by me.
This is by far, the most useful addon I have. Playing on illidan was driving me nuts with all the spam... I had blocked every chinese message in chat which worked for a couple of days, until wow wouldn't let me block any more players...

That's possible, you can easily edit BlockChinese.lua with Notepad++ or VS Code
BlockChinese never blocked Chinese chat in instance/raid groups afaik

I tried changing the LUA:
