FAQ
Q: I cannot move/drag my skills on my bars?
A: Hold Shift to move skills safely. You can also unlock your bars in the Bartender4 options, but using Shift is safer and recommended.
Q: How do i access the Configuration?
A: You can open the configuration with the Slash Commands (/bt or /bartender) or through the Bartender4 LDB plugin.
Q: Where are my keybindings? And how do i bind new keys?
A: Bartender4 buttons should automatically inherit keybindings from the Blizzard bars. For new keybindings, you can use KeyBound to re-bind your keys. You can access KeyBound by its slash command (/kb) or through the button in the BT4 config. Hover a button, press key → voila!
Q: Can I skin the buttons beyond the built-in options?
A: Bartender4 allows skinning through Masque! After installing both Bartender4 and Masque, you can customize the BT4 appearance in the Masque options.
Q: How do i disable the snapping of the bars?
A: Currently, you can temporarily override the snapping by holding down the Shift Key while moving your bars, or uncheck the option in the popup when your bars are unlocked.

I don't know if I have something configured wrong, but before Shadowlands launched when an ability popped up on the special action button, and I moved that to one of my abilities bars, the special action button went away. Since Shadowlands launch, even when I put the covenant ability on my abilties bar, the special action bar stays with that ability in it. When a different special ability pops up, there are two buttons side by side, the covenant ability on the right and the quest function button on the left. Is this a bug with Shadlowlands or do I have something configured wrong? I'd really like to prevent the special abilities button from showing all the time.
Thanks.
Edit: OMG, I just posted this, went back to the game, and the very first time I had an ability for the quest pop up, the covenant ability disappeared. Now, the quest ability was in a different location, so I'm assuming it's blizzard's special action button and the one showing all the time is Bartender 4's button. So, how do I hide Bartender's special action button or basically let bartender know I moved the ability to a different action bar and to remove the ability from that bar?
In reply to aerynsuncrichton:
I just found out that in order to get the extra ability bar to go away, you have to uncheck "enabled" in bar tender, then drag the ability to one of the original WoW bars. So bars 1 - 6.
Then the extra ability button goes away. If you put it on bars 7 - 10 then it will come back.
In reply to Lionhart84:
I had to do this for the first time on my druid last night, after I would shift forms the extra action button popped back up. Today nothing is working to make it go away, unless I put the button in a bar that's different but not convenient at all. But no matter where I put it on bar 1 it refuses to register.
on status tracking bar: 1. on my rogue, only azerite and exp bar is showing NO honor, not honor. 2. on my shaman, only azerite and honor are showing, NO exp bar. any option on which bar i want to see? i dont see anything, only scale and alpha on general settings tab...
Silly question. How do I hide empty section buttons?
Hello!
I have a suggestion for the addon that i think might be used by many people and make keybinding really enjoyable and easy. I find myself constantly moving spells around to organize shit, and it gets really frustrating to also rebind the keys at the same time. My suggestion is, make an option to bind keys to specific spells!
How to do this?
1. Make "bind key to spell check/uncheck" option.
2. Make keybinding work like it already does, only when you drag spells the keybind follows.
3. Make global and character specific keybinds.
Hope you take this idea into consideration, and if you were to implement this i'm sure many will choose Bartender over all else.
Hello
Was there in the past not an Option to change the Font size ? I dont realy know anymore.....
I Mean to Change the font size of the count Numbers of Flask, Pots, Food etc.
It's shown in the bottom right corner, and it's to big for me......the only way to make it smaler it's to resize smaler the hole Bar.
Maybe I do anything wrong...
Please make me a translator on this project
Hey I have a suggestion
Can we get a global profile option? Sexy map has it and it's nice to have that option
Extending off of that, can we get a class profile option? Would make it easy to set up multiple classes with the same layout
Thanks :)
In reply to Allfakennyone:
Bartender has full profile control. You can simply switch all your chars to the same profile, or to a class-specific profile. It offers you full control over this.
In reply to nevcairiel:
Except you have to manually do this for every character, instead of having an actual default profile that gets used as default. You can't "simply" switch all characters to a profile, you need to log into each of them and change it.
I know you responded to this ticket 5 years ago: https://www.wowace.com/projects/bartender4/issues/1191
I completely disagree with your assessment in that response. Actionbar layouts being different between characters is rare, and likely suboptimal. Having the *option* of setting one profile to be used for all current and future characters would be a great feature. There's a reason addons like SUF, Details etc have a Default profile that actually gets used as default instead of creating a new profile for each character that just clutters the profile list and makes it more annoying to select the profile you actually want.
Out of the addons I use it's basically only Bartender and Grid that don't use default profiles.
Ever since the pre patch Bartender 4 is not working, all my bars are gone when it is active and when I try to open it, nothing works
In reply to michele4285:
Same here, it's greyed out in my list?

In reply to michele4285:
Likewise Completely busted as of today 11/17/20. /bt4 will bring up the Menu, but no bars appear anywhere.
In reply to michele4285:
same here, incredibly frustrating, i've had to go back to vanilla bars in the meantime :(
Will it be possible to make the questbar moveable with bartender?
Since the new prepatch for Shadowland, I have an issue with Bartender.
I have been playing WOW for years on Mac computers with no issues and Bartender has been my choice of user interface for more than 5 years. Never had an issue setting it up.
With the new prepatch, I had to do some tweaking around on my home computer, which is ok and I was able to configure it to my liking.
But, on my work computer, where I'm playing on a 49 in. screen, for some reason, Bartender doesn't work. When I open WOW, I simply just can't see any of my character's bars, I can't even open the Bartender 4 menu, it's as if everything was just off the screen, probably lost in Shadowland hahaha
Is there anything I can do because, as of now, I can't do anything since I can't even open the Bartender 4 configuration menu ?
Thanks
PS, yes, it's up to date !
Bar 10 not functioning properly on new characters.
Still works good on previous alts.
On new alts, bar 10 only shows 9 of twelve spots. Even when copying profile from working alt.
Also looks a little misshapen.
In reply to jimgiordano:
I have another addition to Bar10
Macros such as /click BT4Button109;LeftButton not working properly with all possessions on Bar10. The possession spells are mapped correctly (for example - Ring Toss at Darkmoon) but the macro doesn't work. The macro does work with vehicles.
