AutoCombatLog

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Everyone who has logged for a WWS report has encountered at least 1 of the following situations:

- You forgot to turn on /combatlog from the start.

- You forgot to turn on /combatlog after a dc.

- You forgot to turn off /combatlog after the raid (thus providing false data)

For those reasons I wrote AutoCombatLog.

This addon will automatically turn on /combatlog whenever you enter an instance and automatically turn off /combatlog when you leave an instance. Combat logging persists through /reloadui and is resumed after a disconnection with the server.

Help cant find the combatlog anymore, updated to win.7 and cant find the folder anymore when its in.
Any1 know where to look?

"C:\Users\Public\....." maybe. I moved my WoW install folder to my 2nd HDD under D:\Games so I wouldn't have your issue. You can move it wherever you want. If you install to the default windows directory it will then save all addons and crap to that location I believe.

Download and install the Ace3 package, addons can grab libs from there if they miss it themselfs.

By default logging will be enabled for raid instances. If you want to log 5-man instances as well, use the /acl or /autocombatlog command. Alternatively open up the Interface options menu and click the addons tab, then find Autocombatlog and check the 5-man instances checkbox.

This is a nice addon, thank you.
I was wondering if this had a way to automatically create a whole new log file. Currently the file just grows and grows, and chopping it up is getting quite large. I can change the name of the file after every raid, but that is also a bit time consuming.

What I do is log out after we finish say ToC (not exit the game) and rename the file while I am logging back in to run ICC. That way all logs are of individual instances. Takes a second to relog so the file is no longer in use and can be renamed. The game won't ever allow the addon to rename the file because it is in use by WoW.exe. So there will be no feature for this unless they change the way the /combatlog feature works in the game.

I'll add 5-man instance support over the weekend, combined with an option to either automatically issue the /combatlog command or ask for user input when entering a raid or 5-man instance.

I'll do an update with the libraries in a bit :)

A lot of people run combatlog in 5-mans so I suggest either a configuration option, or just change to this:

if(inInstance == 1 and (instanceType == "raid" or instanceType == "party") and (combatLoggingEnabled == 0 or combatLoggingEnabled == nil)) then

Also most Ace2 addons include the libraries required.

I like this addon idea a lot because I forget to re-enable it often.

5 mans are srs bsns. I can't even get a full rotation flying before the bosses die. Hardly doubt you'll get a decent parse to judge.
