This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
Friends list improvements: notes, remembering the information of offline friends, friend list syncing and backups, and a fubar plugin for it all
Having checked on several toons, with r218 the Sync feature is no longer working. I added one new friend while on my Death Knight, but when I logged my other toons the new friend was not imported. I had to add the new friend manually on each toons Friends List.
In r218, the .toc hasn't been updated, it still shows:
Interface: 20400
So for those who don't use the "Load out of date addons" option, either use that option or update the .toc yourself!
I've been using and enjoy AuldLangSyne and wanted to make note of the following:
Possible Bug: AuldLangSyne Hiding/Blocking Built-In Friends Notes
One thing I've noticed is that if I have AuldLangSyne enabled the built-in notes do not show up. This means that if I have a "mixed-mode" of sorts with notes for some people on the built-in notes, and notes for others in AuldLangSyne, I only see the ALS notes when I have ALS enabled. This also makes it hard to manually sync the notes since I can't see the built in notes with ALS enabled.
Feature Request: Bi-Sync Between Built-In Notes and AuldLangSyne
Provide the ability to sync AuldLangSyne notes to WoW's built in friends list notes bidirectionally so you could also sync WoW's built in friends list notes to AuldLangSyne.
Great for keeping that data on reinstalls, or using a different computer, etc.
Hi,
Is there some reason your not updating this on wowinterface any more?
I prefer to get my mods from there... if you won't be updating it there I will have to switch to something else so I just wanted to know.
I got problems with player's notes, I can only add them on party member and I'd like to put them on all player (Raid, target, an right clic a name in a channel). Can you add this features to your magic addon ? :D
I have a minor issue at login with this addon. It generates an erroneous error to chat: "soandso is already your friend." If I delete soandso from the friend list, it will start using a different name in the error. I've tried flushing the friend list and rebuilding to no avail. Any help appreciated.
this addon causes an error with the latest version of tiptac. at first I thought it was tiptac, but when i read through the bugsack info and saw "auldlangsyne" i disabled it and voila, no more error. Here's the error

I'm encountering a problem that I've traced to either LibGuild-1.0 or some function that Cartographer, Cartographer3, and AuldLangSyne all share. It periodically steals focus from text boxes, most notably the In-Game calendar, meaning that half-way through typing something the window snaps shut and whatever keys you were pressing activate as per their keybindings.
