Scan button does nothing #278

ARL Version (ie: 1.0 Beta 9):
    1.0B11

    ARL Revision (ie: r1100):
    r1148

Are you running Skillet/ATSW or any other tradeskill mods?
    no

What is the in-game error received (please do not include the list of addons you're running)?
I am not getting any errors

What did you do with ARL to cause the error/problem?
When I press the scan button nothing happens, tried with all my professions.

Are you running with libraries embedded or disembeded?
I don't know, how do I find out?

How critical is fixing this defect?
The addon doesn't work, so it's useless to me right now.

Please provide any additional information below.
I had seen that someone else was having a similar problem and they deleted the addon and did a manual reinstall, but that did not work for me. When I type /arl it tells me to type /help to get help, but that is for basic wow commands not arl.

I got the exact problem as above and my brother say he has the same problem. I hope a fix will come because i was so happy with it before it bugged

  • Ackis posted a comment Dec 2, 2008

Ok, I can't reproduce this myself.

Can you make sure lua errors are enabled? (in the options)

Can you type /arl and see if anything comes up?

Where are you downloading this from?

I turned on lua errors and now I get an error that pops up in Swatter, but I don't know how to copy it so I can paste it here.

When I type /arl I get a message that says "Type '/help' for a listing of a few commands".

I have wowmatrix to download and update my addons, but when I tried manually installing, I got it from curse.com.

I took a screen shot of the error, so I'll just retype what it said:

    Hmm ok...

Are you using this on a non-enUS locale?

Can you delete your saved variables for ackis recipe list and try again?

I've seen this error before and it was to due with some saved variables issues.

I am using it on an enUS locale. I deleted my saved variables and restarted WoW. When the UI loaded I got this error and the scan button still did not work.

What version of WoW are you running on?

  • Ackis posted a comment Dec 8, 2008

Also, when you installed the addon, did you install using the nolib or the normal version?

    Try this file:

    http://static.wowace.com/uploads/18/315/346/AckisRecipeList-r1194.zip

    Do not use wowmatrix.

    I am using version 3.0.3(9183).

I think I installed the normal version, whichever one is on the curse website is the one I used.

Going to try the file now.

I deleted the addon and saved variables, then installed the file you suppiled, but it still didn't work. I get a slightly different error from the first one now, so I added it just in case it might help you out.

Right now I'm at a loss as to what's wrong.

The filters is obtained by the saved variables, and if it doesn't exist Ace3 creates it for me.

When you delete the saved variables and reinstall the addon, the game is not running right?

Just a thought, the file that you're deleting for the database is called: ARLDB2.lua

    Correct?

I added in some debugging statements/etc... with the latest push... let me know if you see any error messages after you get the latest from the files page.

    Here's the direct link btw:

There's nothing else I can think of... it's working for me without a problem, works for everyone else I speak with... you're on enUS so it's not a localization issue.
