ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
it's never been able to deposit items directly into the reagent bank due to the way i use those item frames and that the bank and reagentbank are actually two different blizzard locations where only one can be open at a time in the default ui (similar to vault tabs), so they never added a way to move things to the reagentbank if it wasnt open
The Twitch app keeps giving me a "nolib" update, so I've been manually installing from here. Is there some setting I need to change to get the regular version?
i would presume there must be an option for that in twitch somewhere. i dont know if its something you can get globally, or if theres one per addon
After the latest release of the addon i have been having an issue that has been affecting only half my characters. In the middle of the screen two buttons are showing up with nothing in them just two empty boxes . When i type fstack and mouse over thy say PTHealBandageFrameBandageButtonShine1 and proceeds with 10 11 12 13 14 and so forth. The issue only goes away when I turn off Ark. But strangely only effects about 6 characters not the ones I play the most.

Hi. LOVE AI, I've been using it for many years, thank you very much for all of your hard work!!
A couple of days ago, my bags began flashing when they're open. By flashing, I mean quickly disappearing when I move something within my pack or transferring large amounts to my bank. When I transfer to the bank, the disappearing lasts a bit longer with both the bank and backpack. I disabled all other addons and still get this same issue. Any thoughts would be much appreciated :^) ~Moose
i cant seem to find a way to rebuild the window without causing issues. it will either strobe all the items as it rebuilds, or move everything around in disconnected chunks, so i've currently opted for hiding the whole thing until its rebuilt, then displaying it in one go.
if you set the sorting to manual, its much less painful as there are less rebuilds

Just a small question I hope you can help. Is there a way to assign a category in the bank layout but not in the backpack?
For example: I assign leather to the 2. bar of my bank layout but I don't want leather to be assign to the 2. bar of my backpack layout
assign different layout designs for bag and bank, leave the style the same
Hello
I have just logged into one of my characters and found that all my arkinventory formatting is gone. I was on the character earlier this morning and all was fine. The only thing I have done in the time between is use twitch to install the latest version of the addon. Has this deleted everything, (I would not have thought an upgrade would impact on my saved variables)?
Before I commence the long task of resetting everything up and rewriting the rules, custom categories, etc I thought I would ask if there is an alternative.
I appreciate you are, like all addon writers, very busy presently with updates and RL, but any advice would be valued. Thank you.
the answer to the question directly below this relates to your issue as well

hello great addon, where in settings is view items per row and items per colum?recent upgrade reset it for some reason'
edit : reverted variable file, fixed it thnx for ur great work
edit 2 : stil wanta know tho, even tho it isnt detrimental
youre using the default profile, which got cleared.
the upside (presuming you have no backup) is that you only lose the blueprint assignments for each location, not all your actual setup.
create a new profile and use that, it wont have any issues
i've pulled the current version and fixed it in the next release
In reply to Arkayenro:
ArkInventory and TSM4 are currently conflicting with each other. When both are loaded and I open the mailbox, I see both the default blizzard mailbox as well as the new TSM mailbox GUI. Additionally, if I close the default blizzard mailbox via the 'x' in the corner, it causes TSM to throw an error.
Without Arkinventory loaded, I only see the TSM mailbox which is the preferred behavior.
I've poked around, but can't find out what's causing this nor a way to prevent ArkIventory from making the default blizzard mailbox visible.
i need to check how TSM are doing it but i use the same method for all locations so its odd they dont conflict anywhere else.
