ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
getting an error with the latest update. The error occurs when I mouse over a mapnote created by HandyNotes that displays an Item tooltip. it didn't do this before your last update and disappeared when I rolled back to 3.08.13.
I would like to reset everything for all toons. Please advise!
you could just create a new profile and use that instead but that requires that you have not altered the default blueprint sections (style, layout, categoryset)
if you have altered anything in the [1000] Defaults options, and you no longer want to keep what you had setup there then just go into each config area (style, layout, categoryset) and open the [1000] entry and in the copy from option select *[9999] Default from the dropdown which will reset it back to system defaults - do that for all three and it will be back to how it came
I am noticing something similar to billi1995: An Arkinventory: restack on my bank puts gearsprings into the reagents bank instead of the Elementium Toolbox. On boot, I do get a couple of "backpack not recognized, requeueing" messages. my twitch client says this is up to date with 3.08.14
TIA
when using the filter
it also filters soulbound items
I downloaded the newest version of ArkInventory, and I'm kicking myself for it. My bank and bags are now linked and I can't find how to unlink them in the configure section. How do I unlink them? I love having filters in my bag but I prefer to have no filters in my bank. Previous version it was simple to find the option, but setting section is a hella different now and I can't find it anywhere - and guides I've found online only show the old settings so they're no help. Please help, I hope I'm just blind and don't see it, but it would be devastating if you got rid of that feature. I can't live without ArkInventory, it's a must add on
in the config under control, the three blueprint options for each location, make sure they are different between bank and bag if you want completely different settings, layouts, and categories to apply.
When BfA launched, my Arkinventory is working fine except it used to open the Guild Bank to the last tab viewed, even between logouts. Now it flashes on that tab and pops back to the first tab. How do I set it to the "old way"? Pretty inconvenient when you're alt-hopping to move mats.
Thanks again for your work! I've said that over the 12(?) years I've used it, but Arkinventory is one of my Must-Have addons or I can't play this game. =)
There seems to be a conflict with Auctionator, not sure who has to change something. I posted it to Auctionator's site as well.

Just a small question. I equipped an inscription bag in my bank but only a few inscription mats are put in there. And if I put them in manually the blizzard cleaning up option just pulls them out of it and places them in my regular bags...
why is this happening and how do I stop it?
Hello! Guild bank deposit and log toggle button seems to be missing.
In reply to lereda:
i've always loved this addon so when i started playing again i re-downloaded this as well.
something is a bit off though i've noticed that it takes 2-5 sec to load items and instant sorting is lagged by a couple of seconds.
don't recall it ever lagging more than 1/2 a second. if that isn't normal it could be the bug i've been having on rare occasions while accessing inventory something else gets triggered. 1st time i noticed this i was in class hall planning to sell trash and instantly ported to hillsbrad as a NE demon hunter i've never been there. only thing i have that might have ported me there was a engineering toy in collections i think wormhole generator maybe. 2nd time i was in stormwind bank and my warglaves ui opened up without ever opening character window.

Hi Arkayenro,
I m getting an error message regarding a rule that i ve set when i login (didn't had it last week).
The rule that i ve set is for sorting items that belong to any of my current sets on all my characters.
My rule is: outfit( "impie", "givre", "sang", "vindicte", "sacré", "protection" )
And here is the error message:
In english the orange portion of the text says "WARNING>rule 1001 is tagged as damaged and won't be used anymore until being repaired".
I don't get where this error comes from. I ve typed my rule the exact same way than in the RuleFunction_Outfit guide and it worked well during previous weeks. If i look at the error message it says that it's looking for a number instead of a string but ain't i supposed to use the name of the outfit as set in my equipment manager?
Best regards.
in the blizzard equipment manager do you have a set that has no name?
the code is trying to insert the set name into the end of the table but its possibly empty (although it would always be a string so not exactly sure why its having an issue unless blizzard did something funky to their code)
any outfit based rule you create should barf in exactly the same way
i'll try changing the code from blizzards tinsert function to the base table.insert from Lua and see if that helps
there will be an r780-alpha version you can try to see if that fixes it or not
In reply to Arkayenro:
All my sets are named. I just download the r781-alpha version and the issue is still the same unfortunately. As said before this is kind of weird as far as i didn't had this issue last week.
Also i just noticed another warning message regarding my bags (for info i have 2 "Silkweave Satchel" and 2 "Deep Sea Bag").
unknown bag type should be temporary, the message should stop after the game has cached the bag type
if you change your rule to just outfit( "impie", "protection" ) does it still have an issue? ie try taking out the set names one at a time and see if it ends up working or not
