ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I remember being able to disable it for the guild bank, just for the guild bank, how do I do that for wow TBC?
the post under this asked the same thing
config > general > profiles > the profile youre using > controls > guild bank > general > override (untick)
In reply to Arkayenro:
I'm sorry, I had not seen it, thank you, appreciate it
Hi!
Loving the addon. I don't seem to be able to find the option to disable the guild bank UI though, I'd prefer the default UI.
config > general > profiles > the profile youre using > controls > guild bank > general > override (untick)
Thank you for continuing the work on this great addon :)
I just installed the last alpha for TBC and the Bank still dons shows up.
In the previous versions it worked with the Blizzard ui but now nothing happens by opening the guild bank.
By setting the override for the guild bank the bank opens up but the content want be collected in the arkinventory database.
i know, i enabled the guild bank, but not the events it needs to listen to, to update - i dont have a bcc toon in a guild to test with so...
should be fixed, i think, in alpha 4 that just got uploaded
Sorry but now i got some lua errors, but we are getting closer :) no ERR display but Full and no items are visible.
First Error (comes up on first open):
second (comes up on secon open):

I can confirm that r1170-alpha works fine with TBC guildbank, thank you :)
I like hiding the empty bag space, but let's say I want to drag an item from my character sheet into my bag (ie: unequip it), or drag an item from my bank (I run into this problem a lot when I try to split stacks from the guild bank and take just a bit) into my bag, how would I go about doing that? I tried maybe dragging it into the tool bar, or margins, but it just doesn't like it.
a) set the empty slots to 1 so theres always 1 empty slot shown - if you do this unhide the empty category
b) leave the bag changer frame open and drop things onto one of the bags (that has a free slot)
In reply to Arkayenro:
Ah, thank you so much, I knew it was there somewhere, it's just been so long since I've had to set ark back up. Didn't realize there was an empty slots tab in the styles area. I think I kept overlooking it because the slider said "stack limit". Of course, I'm at a loss of what better thing to call it, but the tooltip helped me find it :)
Mundo love to a very very well made, and almost impossible to live without mod that's last the ages.
In reply to Arkayenro:
I found a bug in this version (3.09.56). When I move or sell items when the bag is opened, the items will be automatically sorted and moved.
i know, but its that or it fails to redraw every now and then. ill figure out a nice medium eventually but yes, every now and then the window will rebuild
In reply to Arkayenro:
I guess it happens because when there are Anima or Cataloged Research items in the bag, these items will report errors in non-English clients, and the bug will happen.
If such items do not exist in the bag, the bug does not happen.
the next alpha will change it slightly so that it does a refresh, not a redraw, but that might impact some of the initial window drawing - its hard to say as i hardly ever get any issues on the initial drawing
its odd that your server isnt sending the item info for those, id expect anima and research items to be known and heavily used by lots of users. it could be a language issue but im not sure, what language is your client set to?
try moving the actual anima/research items around and see if it eventually stops rebuilding.
In reply to Arkayenro:
My client language is Simplified Chinese and these items do not report errors in 3.09.52.
The same bug occurs when moving anima or research items.
see if alpha 2 helps
In reply to Arkayenro:
Alpha is working fine, no bugs or errors found, thanks.
Ark, could you add or add an option to show pet owned count in the tooltip?
