ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
My only question is: would it be possible to brighten up the colour of the standard bag display on the Broker display? It's a very dark grey, and is quite hard to see on my black broker bar.
I'm going to give ClosetGnome a try, but I don't know if it has all the features ItemRack has that I want. So I'd still be interested in seeing if I can get ItemRack to work with ArkInventory.
A side note about the issue I'm having, it -seems- like as I acquire new equipment and update my outfits with the new pieces, the newer pieces -are- being correctly sorted. Right now about half my armor is being sorted right, the other half isn't. So I guess in time it'll eventually sort it all, maybe. But sucks in the meantime as I'm trying to dig through the stuff in my bags and figure out what I need and what I don't.
I ended up switching to using Outfitter, the most recent update listed on Curse, and find it has everything I wanted and a lot more. So I'm switching to it permanently. BUT... I am actually having almost the same exact problem as I was with ItemRack!
Most of my armor is now being sorted correctly. However there are a few random bits of armor that are not being sorted. Some are only used in one outfit, some are used in a couple different outfits. In every outfit, most of the armor is being sorted correctly.
As an example, if I take off all my armor (just wearing a pretty robe and nothing else), I have 30 armor pieces that are saved into one of 3 armor sets. All three of those sets have pieces that -are- being sorted correctly. But, in total, 17 are being sorted correctly, while 13 are still being sorted into the "Soulbound" category.
I hope you can find a way to resolve this! In the meantime, at least Outfitter actually labels items in their tooltip, letting you know which are being used by an Outfit. So I'm no longer tearing my hair out as much as I was before! heheh
the live servers were down so i could only test on the beta servers and it sort of worked but i need to test it on live to make sure - which may now have to wait a bit until i get patched and all mods are updated for 4.0
click on an item or a bar and select move.
click on another bar and select move > complete.
if you moved a bar then the whole bar moves to the new bar and everything else in between is dropped down.
if you moved an item then that items category is moved to the new bar
I figured the simplest way to convey what I have tried is to take screenshots. So here is what I have...
This is how I have the rules written. These are for my Druid, who has 3 outfits. One for Cat form, one for Bear form, and one for Healing. This is the Cat Form outfit rule:

All 3 rules are set up exactly the same, just with different names, of course. I have them written exactly how they appear in ItemRack.
I also have all 3 custom Rules set up to go to a separate bar. As shown in this image:
http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee455/Crystallyne/Ark02.jpg
In the last image, you can see a bunch of equipment still in SoulBound. Probably half, or most, of it should all now be sorted into the separate bar as per the Rules:

I have tried relogging. I have tried going into ItemRack and re-saving each outfit. I have tried everything I can think of, and they stubbornly -refuse- to move! Please, what am I doing wrong?
This is also a repost from a comment left on another website, but it seems as though you may be more active on this site, so I thought I'd post it here as well. I'll remove whichever post you don't respond to. Just want to add that I have gone so far as deleting my current outfits and re-making them. And for some reason it -is- properly sorting some of the pieces from my "Heal" outfit. But not the rest! And not sure it's sorting all the pieces from my Heal outfit! Some of those are also in the "Bear" outfit...
ive fixed the tooltip not showing any other toons in wrath, and fixed the backpack display in cataclysm.
youll get both fixes in .54
so you created another profile, call is ProfileA (copied or new?) played with that for a couple of days, then logged into another toon and ProfileA was no longer there?
these toons were on the same account? ie you dont have more than one account?
and if you log back into the previous toon is the profile there? or when selecting a profile theres none to chose from?
do you have lua errors enabled? and if so were any reported on login?
is it possible that something is corrupting that savedvariable file?
