ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to Arkayenro:
yes, confirmed that the latest alpha fixed the error. Thanks.

Sorry I wasn't able to get back on earlier, but I can confirm that V3.09.15 has resolved my problem.
Is there a way to search or categorize the corrupted items ?
If I search "corrupt" in the search box as I do for other like Mastery or Haste , I've no result.
searching is only done against the base item and corruption is a bonus id so ill need to add them into the search options, like i did for the suffixes (also a bonus id)
i've added the corruption bonus ids into the search options so you should be able to find them next release
In reply to Cortx:
for those wanting to categorize corrupted items i have a little workaround.
Make a new Rule
and in the section formula just add the line
tooltip("Corruption")
if you apply this rule to a bag every item with a Curruption effect will be sorted to this bag if you gave it a high enough priority
Figured it out. I edit each bar with Name Descending/ascending.
the default is under settings > design > the design you are using > window > style > sorting
Wow Classic.
I have used this addon for a long time and love it. I have a question that may be basic. How do I sort items so they are in line with each within the group? I have only "item name" as a sort method, but an example is health potions-maybe 3 stacks and they are all in different spots (in the same bar, just a few spots away from each other as opposed to all lined up together). I can manually move them , but I'm sure I'm missing something basic. Any help is appreciated.
Any way to make corrupted more visible in bags?
Had to go back to the previous version. Can not open regular inventory. I updated via twitch. Then deleted all Ark Inventory folders and then reinstalled via twitch, still continued to receive same error message. Only other addon loaded was AddOn Control Panel.

Hello, love the addon...since 8.3 I cant seem to track items across characters (same realm) in the tooltip? Need this for crafting, thanks :) Edit: Seems to only track old items (8.2 and below) but now new 8.3 crafted gear like the new uncanny items.
You need to do something about your dependancies on classic versus retail. The whole remove classic before doing retail isn't working. I do it once it works then then next update comes along and I update classic and refresh retail only to find that your addon is offering me another 1.x update when it should be a 8.x update
ArkInventoryClassic was the first version i created for classic before i made ArkInventory work for both - they are different mods
If you have removed ArkInventoryClassic and installed ArkInventory in classic then thats all you need to do - you dont remove ArkInventory after that, just upgrade it via twitch, or manually
there are currently two releases for each version now, eg 3.09.13 and 3.09.13-Classic, because twitch cant handle a mod working in both retail and classic so i have to upload the same files twice and tag one for retail and one for classic - but they are both the exact same version of ArkInventory, which is 8.3.0 (there is no 1.13.3 version)
I love this addon so much. I used this way back in the day on retail. Thank you!
Using R894-alpha, shows as 3.09.11 alpha1 in Twitch. Having several issues. Can't insert/move/delete bars. Can't change a category for an item.
you need 3.09.12 - i've dropped the release version back to 8.2.5 so it can be seen in retail (at least i can see it). one day they'll sort this crap out.
In reply to Arkayenro:
Thanks for the quick response :). I don't see that version in Twitch. Is it a timing thing and I just need to wait? (This is retail if it wasn't obvious)
Thank you for all your work on this addon!
ok, i think i worked out a way so that between curse and twitch they dont screw things up.
you should see 3.09.12 for retail and 3.09.12-Classic for classic
In reply to Arkayenro:
I see it TY!!
