ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
like all mods though, if you make some serious config changes either logout/login or uireload so they get saved to the file, othwerise they just stay in memory until you do.
I have the ages all displayed, and everything works as expected, however I can't find what to click, or right click, or whatnot to reset all the timers.
Thanks for a great addon, and appreciate your help.
Thanks for your help!
1. In edit mode, The first time the user selects a specific row for an item with the slider bar to select the row it works fine. however after that first selection every time the user attempts to use the slider for selecting a bar the slider disappears when the user mouses over either the bar or the text field containing the number. This happens both when editing the bar number for an individual item, as well as when editing a bar itself.
Here is a video of this bug: http://jo-shadow.com/Public/Johannes/Movies/ArkInventory_Bug/ArkInventory_Bug.html
The bug 'resets' every time the user logs in/reloads their UI.
2. In edit mode, When attempting to create a new category for an item the following error occurs: http://pastebin.com/bUCTJary
2. i *think* ive fixed this one already, it should only happen after a database upgrade, doing a ui reload should stop it. but if thats not whats happening can you detail what you did after edit mode to get it to barf?
Alternatively you should be able to view it by using the cross platform media player VLC ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ) and pasting the following link in after choosing the menu option 'File->Open Network...':

The scrollwheel is a good workaround in the meantime though. Thank you.
Another possibly related bug i've noticed is that while the number slider is up, I am unable to select any of the other options, they don't even light up when I mouse over them. The only way to access them is to either have the slider hide by mousing over via the original bug, or by selecting a new object, thus resetting the dropdown menu. This is not a big bug, just one that disrupts the flow of using the addon, as often I have accidentally moused-over the 'choose bar' option and then always have a few seconds where I am trying to select another option but cannot because the bugged-out slider is still open.
2. I'll be sure to let you know if I can re-create it, but so far it's looking like I am unable to re-create the bug =)

Two, a search button (to toggle the search bar rather, or as well as the existing giant search window)
Three, collapse unused slots into 1 (or several if different bag types) with the number of empty slots (like baggins).
Yes I said 2, well I never claimed to count.
Either way an excellant addon.
I now don't see empty slots, but I can still see at the bottom how many empty slots I have left. Just a temp solution for now.
but yeah, an individual "compress" option would be nice. sorta like the "Hide" option, where I can do each category separately. like compress Ammo and Empty to one spot, but let Cloth and Herbs stay separated stacks of 20.
the number in the single button should reflect how many total we have, such as 5200 ammo, or 20 empty. or maybe allow 5.2k ammo for numbers over 3 digits.
2. maybe. the smaller search bar toggle button, not a dual purpose one, thatd get annoying
3. hide the empty categories. open the changer window, drop split stacks onto non full bags (should work). may need to refresh to see items, depends on your re-sort settings.
