ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

So it's been working great but all of the sudden the addon seems to have forgotten all my rules and sorting set ups. This is really annoying cause I may as well have the default bags as it stands. I haven't deleted any settings, haven't done anything that I can think of that should cause this. I have the most up todate version and have for a while.
Any chance you'll be including a void storage module soon?
void storage is there, just view only, im not sure but i think i left it that way for a reason
probably a font issue, you may want to try another font or use one of your own (via sharedmedia)
Love the addon, been using it for years, but recently found it couses some problems with my UI. Most noticly it stops showing text in chat window after some characters appear in text - usualy after: č, ć, ž. Text is still there it just doesn't show

I've been having some issues with Arkinventory recently, which sometimes even results in wow crashing with a fatal error (The type that has the fault log auto sent to Blizzard). I use bugsack, and I will include the non crash errors. These occur when in edit mode and assigning items to categories (custom or otherwise)
Love the Addon, been using it for years, but one thing that bugs me is the Guild Bank,
Is there a way to move the "withdraw", Deposit" buttons onto another line, The Guild money on this line obstructs the Tabs, 7 and 8th depending on how wide you have made you bags/bank/guildbank.
Thanks in advanced
When I assign the category System > Equpitment (Not Soulbound) to a bar, it moves all equiptment both BOEs and soulbound items into the bar. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I would really like to be able to separate BOEs so that I can mail them to an alt for DE'ing or whatever. It would be nice to have my BOEs and soulbound items separted. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! =)
I just had this happen to me.
That's actually weird as I have the same setup (only I have a category for soulbound items that allows me to quickly sell useless quests rewards) and it works just fine. Did you try to reload the UI after setting it up or maybe assign soulbound items to another category?
Hope you can get it to work
No sure if it's possible or not...
But I'd like to give an idea, is there a way to make it so that the bags auto arrange similar items near each other?
One of the things that bothers me the most, is seeing a stack of copper bars, bronze bars then another copper bar...
And sometimes, even if I arrange them right, when I refresh my tabs they screw up again.
Is there an option for that already (and I'm failing to see it?) or is it possible to include in the future?
The idea would be that ArkInventory would organize all similar items near each other...
Click on the cog wheel for Edit Mode, then click on a numbered section. Under Sort Method choose Current. You'll see Config at the bottom. Use the available sorting methods, or add your own and play with the options.
You are my hero...
I'm not sure exactly what changed where, but after an update recently, the tooltips of items in a vendor window no longer inform me if I already have an item in my inventory or bank, or a pet in my journal.
Also, padding, I can't set padding above 0? :( Every category is smashed so close together I can barely tell them apart :(
Addendum: I love the mod regardless :D Been forcing it into every compilation I adopt, replacing whatever they were using. So nice to have all my stuff neatly organized ^_^
Is there a way to lookup PT sets?
I am trying to create rules using PT sets to organise my inventory, but don't know how to find them.
edit mode > click on item > debug info > pt sets - will list all pt sets an item is in
if you want to know every single set then youll need to lookup the periodiclibrary mod - or check the lua files in the externals directory
next version will have an option to not use the custom battlepet tooltip, but it also disables item counts for battlepets
