ArcHUD3
Midnight Changes: I have created a version of ArcHUD3 that is compatible with Midnight!! With the API changes in 12.0, it is no longer possible to create the exact smooth arcs used here, but I've made the closest approximation I could. There is some polish that is no longer possible for arcs that rely on secret values (health, power, etc), like the spark, smooth animations, angled tips, etc. If you notice any issues (there are likely several), feel free to open an issue on GitHub.
ArcHUD displays smooth arcs around your character in the middle of the screen to inform you about the health and power (mana, rage, ...) of you, your pet, and your target. In addition, it shows casts, combo points, holy power, soul shards, and a couple of other things. It discretely fades when you are out of combat and at full health/power.
This is a continuation of ArcHUD2 which managed to survive various patches... until the Cataclysm. Thanks to Nenie, the original author of ArcHUD2, for supporting me with this new version.
Please report any bugs or feature requests via the ticket system.
These arcs are currently supported:
- Health and power (mana, rage, focus, energy, runic power) for player, pet, target, and focus target
- Player's secondary power (Holy Power, Soul Shards, Chi etc.)
- Casting/channelling progress for player, target, and focus target
- Fatigue/breath (mirror timer)
- Combo points (including unconsumed combo points on previous target, e.g. on dead corpses)
- Custom (de)buff arcs: Ever wanted to keep track of the stacks and/or remaining times of some specific (de)buffs such as Evangelism, Savage Roar, Beacon of Light, Weakened Soul, etc? Then just create your own custom (de)buff arc for it!
In addition, some additional target information is displayed:
- Current target (name, class, guild, 3D model)
- Current (de)buffs on target
- Target-of-target and target-of-target-of-target
Small warning: Using this addon apparently bears a high risk of getting addicted to it, as these user comments suggest. I received those after taking over the development of ArcHUD when the Cataclysm happened:
- "...nothing ever quite matched the smooth, clean simplicity of ArcHUD's graceful rings."
- "Great job!! I've used this addon for years! None of the other HUDs come close to the functionality and elegance of ArcHUD."
- "Thanks for the work on it so far, much more lightweight than IceHud!"
- "Was staring at the various icehud/metahud alternatives with discomfort and sadness right after the patch [4.0]."
- "Awesome! Thank you so much for that miracle!"
- "Thank you so much for continuing this fantastic addon."
- "...nothing could compare to ArcHUD..."
- "For a whole 4years I had this mod and I missed it so much in the passed few weeks. I tried other HUD mods but they were too in my face >.< . Best HUD mod IMO! Thanks for resurrecting an old friend :D"
- "Loving the new ArcHUD my favorite HUD by far :)"
- "I don't think I could play wow without this addon :)"
- "I've actually grown kind of dependent on it because I'll occasionally run out of Mana/ die without this."
- "Hey mate, just came to thank You again for taking over this beauty, awesome job!"
- "THAT addon! So long I have been searching for a replacement when the development stopped, thanks for bringing it back to live!"
So use it at your own risk ;)

Posted Aug 21, 2012Well..I feel like a jackass telling you IceHUD this IceHUD that..when I really do like yours better..the overall presentation is nicer..the frames look classier..praise /praise /praise
Don't want it to come to a conclusion of if you like that so much..stick wih that jackass ;-)
My sole interest is constructive criticism about what 1 person likes about addons like these :-D
So with the gains or whatever they're actually called..it'd go like this
Lock & Load animation( ArcHUD( ) Lock & Load Animation) Fitting very seamlessly together..
If you're interested in the concept just try IceHUD once..fire some shots at a dummy 'til you get Lock & Load..don't set it up..no need to do anything..just look at the default positioning..
Actually that probably won't be an adequate description since lock & load only shows up over your head as the 2 pistols firing doesn't it..no side indicators..well..you get the idea anyway ;-)

Posted Aug 21, 2012Actually, you are talking in riddles to me - maybe it's because English isn't my native language ;) I tried IceHUD on Beta - nothing special about the positioning of the Lock 'n Load pistols.
Latest alpha contains options to center the spell overlays on ArcHUD and to scale them, so they may fit more nicely into ArcHUD.

Posted Aug 22, 2012I haven't played much Beta..I'll try to talk better ;-)
Lock & Load was a mistake..the animation picture is on top not on the sides..
Better examples would be Hot Streak, Omen of Clarity, Arcane Missles, Blood Surge..side pictures of self buff procs
The difference is your default position isn't ideal..those pictures overlap with the HUD..
I know I could config & move all the frames around..
I was just suggesting setup the default position to compliment the default game proc animations..done by moving the position in closer and up higher..

Posted Aug 23, 2012This should now be possible with the new center/scaling option for the spell overlays (sort of). It doesn't allow individual positioning (so the pistols will stay there) but should avoid overlapping with the arcs.

Posted Aug 18, 2012No, I think I won't add such a feature. Simple reason is that ArcHUD does not provide a replacement for those frames. You are probably looking for a Unit Frame addon: They all come with the feature of hiding standard Blizzard frames while providing their own frames (which maybe can be hidden, too).
Edit: Just found this one: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/hideparty

Posted Aug 18, 2012Alrighty suh its certainly your decision to make..just something I'm used to from my time with IceHUD ;-)
Don't get it twisted I still do like yours a lot :-)
I'll tell you why I value that frame toggle option just for the sake of perspective..
For all the DPS I play..I couldn't care less about the party frame..its just in the way taking up space..that's why I like it all gone..cleans up my screen..gives me clear space to position a meter..cooldown trackers..dot trackers..the Decursive frames..
For the Healer I play..I usually use Healbot but have been trying Grid..& Decursive..all also frames that need to go somewhere ;-)
For the Tank I play..I don't much anymore but used TauntMaster as a unit frame..

Posted Aug 18, 2012Ok, that's certainly more a debate about play style ;) When it comes to me, I like my interface as classic as possible. Even as DD (hunter), I could not imagine to live without raid frames. It happens from time to time that I'm able to save somebody's ass, be it through TS, short distracts or short CCs. When it works, it feels better than having a few extra hundred DPS on the meters ;)
But try to convince me: Just open a ticket with this request and let others vote for it. If there is a small number of people voting for it, I might think of it again ;) Meanwhile, you should definitely give the hideparty addon mentioned above a try.

Posted Aug 18, 2012I've got 1 other humble request too..I didn't notice 'til just now..
In Miscellaneous could you add the option to hide party frame too?
If you wanted to get real crazy with it..hiding that lame raid frame popout on the side & the boss frames on the far right would be pro too ;-)
/salute

This issue might be related to the mouse-over issue desribed here: http://www.wowace.com/addons/archud3/tickets/52-invalid-click-target-name/
It should be fixed in current alpha and will be available as beta once 5.0.4 hits.

Posted Aug 8, 2012The Pet Power arc is not responding to changes to the side anchor point- when I change it to left side it stays on the right. Any ideas?
I installed today, v1.0(r50) on the Pet Power page under Arc Options.
Side note- why does each arc option have a different version number?

Posted Aug 8, 2012Thanks for the ticket.
Regarding the version numbers: Each arc is considered a module which could be distributed independently of ArcHUD. This is mainly important for 3rd party arcs (none of them exist to my knowledge). For arcs shipped with ArcHUD, this just shows whether there have been some major updates.

Posted Jul 26, 2012Is there a way to have Holy Power show up like a Druid/Rogue combo point number on the HUD? I find it harder to use the arc at a quick glance with my healing, and think that would be a lot simpler.

Posted Jun 29, 2012Thanks for updating this, I used the original ArcHUD and for a while I didn't think I was going to find a replacement back in the day until I found this. I hope you continue development in to MoP as this is one of the addons I can't live without!

Posted Jun 9, 2012Brilliant Addon, makes life so much easier, only comment i could make would be that it doesn't show the cooldown on runes for Death Knights, if that was added it would be flawless. :)

Posted May 19, 2012Awesome addon, really like it.
One thing: while I know how to conceal the player text/percentage HP/power quantities, I would like to be able to move them as well. Or maybe have them reanchor to the same side (left/right) as their corresponding arc does. I don't think this is currently possible. Would that be too hard to implement?
