Arcana

Table of Contents

Arcana (formerly ChocolateBar) is a lightweight display for broker plugins that lets you organize and observe information on flexible panels. An alternative to TitanPanel, Bazooka and other broker displays.

The Quel'dorei became scattered across the world. To preserve the fragments of arcana they gathered from many sources, they maintain observatories where this knowledge is kept in careful order.

Main Features

Multiple bars - top/bottom or anywhere as many as you want.
Decoloring of plugin text and stripping in text icons for a cleaner ui.
Support for icon colors and coordinates like used by TomTom.
To qucikly get to a plugins option drag a plugin over the open option drop point.
More Arcane - a plugin toggle show/hide another bar.

Options for:

Show bars on mouse over only.
Hide bars in combat.
Hide bars during a pet battle.
Set a fixed width for any plugin.
Change textures, font, colors and a lot more...

Where to get plugins?

Search for plugins in the category data-broker on CurseForge.

Usage

Right click the bar or type "/arcana" to open the options menu.

Testing this out from scratch on another character and I am able to right click to get options on the right side of the bar. I added in the clock addon as well on the right side and it is working as it should. I will continue to search for the offending addon that I have added to broker that may be causing the problem. It was just odd that it just started occurring with the recent updates to ChocolateBar.

**Update**

The problem was the Moveanthing addon with the MiniMap and the zone text (which I have hidden) covering up a part of the bar on the right side. Seems like some things have been reset with 8.0.1 and Moveanything, it has been kind of wonky even with some fixes here and there. Just had to move down the minimap frame that was covering the right side of the bar.

In either case, this obviously isn't an issue with ChocolateBar, just something I missed. Thanks for the suggestion to test out what addon may be causing the problem. This may help out jetshadowfire as well.

Thank you, friend, for all your hard work on CB.

I still have that little annoying bug... I have CB Bar Texture set, but I always get a black background. Certainly not a huge ordeal, but I was wondering if the loading order of CB might cause this? If the textures aren't quite loaded yet?

Hello, love the addon!

I noticed that when I change (add right action bar, remove right action bar) from the interface settings, the action bars aren't rendering correctly. A /reload fixes the issue however.

This should now be fixed if you do not have a bar at the bottom. If you have one there, a /reload is the workaround for now.

I had to jump back to a previous version. The current release version of Chocolate Bar is not making my action bar useless (keybind and stack count numbers hidden, bar unresponsive to clicks) and is even blocking chat i type from from showing up in my window! Again no error messages popping up, and a UI reload would fix the issue temporarily, but I can't do that after (or during) each combat.The bouncing action bar was much less annoying, so I reinstalled the previous version.

I have the same issue. It happens everytime I leave a vehicular UI. The new center button bars no longer show numbers and are no longer clickable, no tooltips either. Side button bars work normally. Only a /reload fixes it.

I have tried the newest version and it still has the same problem and is anytime you go in and out of a vehicle or zone in and out of somewhere. I hope that also helps you find the problem quicker and does the same thing on all classes and all races that I have Ally as well EN-US Server Oceanic, Thanks again for your awesome work and add-on :).

Playing at the moment and doesn't seem to be playing up at all anymore? Not sure why, although I will let you know if it still is or isn't playing up, but as I said looking really good so far :).

It is definitely working well now, which is awesome. Put a note on the ticket for you to read if you want more information, but I think this issue is now more than resolved. Thanks for all your help and sorry to hassle you with these annoying little bugs.

Ok another update re this problem. Works all the time except LightForged Warframe on Argus. Plays up every time straight after and just do a reload and all is ok. I do use lower bar and top as well. I really hope this helps out a bit? Sorry Yess I didn't know until I just tried a few times tonight and it is the only thing I have trouble with. Although I haven't disabled any add-ons at all and may not be yours just so you know I haven't had that chance and if no one else is complaining then just my bad luck... Thanks heaps again.

I'm still having issues with vehicle UI making any mouse clicks on the action bar useless. Any vehicle seems to do it and it doesn't affect keybind function of those action bars, only mouse clicks. Also sometimes black vertical bars will appear through the chocolate bar at the bottom of the screen.

Oops! Looks like I misspoke! IThere seems to be a glitch on Blizzard's end where sometimes a hostile enemy will still attack in the middle of a pet battle even though the the pet battles are supposed to have a phased area where enemies will walk through and ignore the battle. The Pet Battle UI is considered a vehicle and getting kicked out of a battle will also cause the bottom action bar to become unusable. This is on the most current version.

Edit: Also driving the yaks for the quest At the Yakwash. I wonder if it might be the difference in exiting the vehicle UI intentionally vs being forced out.

Another Edit: Many of the vehicle UIs in BfA also seem to have this problem. Also with investigation it seem that it's like the bottom bar isn't moving the whole action bar back back up after being hidden by the vehicle UI. The graphical image of the bar is moved, but the interface itself is still in its normal placement, but can't be clicked on because it's hidden by the bottom Chocolatebar. Again this is in version 3.2.1.

I also have this same problem with version 3.2.3 installed. Every time I exit a vehicle UI, my bottom blizzard cast bars aren't working and the numbers disappear. The only thing that seems to fix it is if I /reload. If I turn off "Adjust Blizzard Frames" in the ChocolateBar options, that also fixes it so that my bottom cast bar works even after leaving a vehicle UI, but then of course the bottom ChocolateBar is unusable. Please advise if there is a way to fix this issue! Thanks!

Hi there, seem to be having a minor issue. Haven't played in months so unsure if this is a new or old issue. However, ChocolateBar no longer seems to be capable of adjusting blizzard frames (even though I have this option checked and have always done so). So now it overlaps things like my buff bar, minimap, etc. Also covers the class hall bar (which I'd actually like to see). If I simply change the strata, then I can't see ChocolateBar while in a class hall.

Moved from ButtonBin to Chocolate Bar.

Is it possible to disable the clicking of Chocolate Bar opening the addon controls.

Can not see the setting for it, thanks.

Hi Scorekeeper.

Not sure if this is what you want or helps? But if you right click on an empty area of Chocolate Bar there is a drop down option called "Bar Right Click" (currently most likely has ChocolateBar Options listed). If you change it to none - it will do nothing anymore or you can also chose Blizzard menu if you prefer?

Hope this doesn't offend Yess, but not sure if it was ok to say something or not, as didn't want to contradict or offend you and your bloody awesome addon. Must say leaves all others for dead :). Thanks for such a good addon and again hope I haven't offended at all with this post???
