There any chance of getting back the pre-8.3 option for the chat window that if you have your chat bar open, be it with a message on it or not and click anywhere on the screen that it closes out your chat window, instead of this simply de-highlighting it as the main focus of what your typing is going to?
This seems like an issue with an automatic system you're using to install addons. There are 2 things you can do to improve this situation:
Report bugs to the authors of those automatic systems. If you're using the Twitch client, that's not authored by the AdvancedInterfaceOptions authors. The AdvancedInterfaceOptions authors have tagged the proper releases for classic and retail. If an automatic system is not respecting those tags, that's an issue with that system.
If the automatic systems are not fixed, don't rely on those automatic systems. In the case of the Twitch client, this has been happening since the launch of classic, so it seems like the authors don't care and aren't going to fix it.
It's possible another addon you're running is breaking the interface; you might try disabling your other addons and checking if it still doesn't work without them enabled, that would help us narrow down possible causes!
So it says "These options allow you to modify various CVars in the game".
But, how? Clicking on them doesn't work... If I hover over one of the values, I see a pop-up window that tells me what the "default" is... but clicking on the CVAR - the name, the description, the value... nothing seems to allow me to change any of the CVars. So, how does one change them using the interface?
I know I can issue a command in the console window to do it but that just changes it for the session. Presumably, changing the value in the editor would make it permanent across all sessions and characters. But I can't seem to change any of the values in the editor.
Great addon, thanks for posting this! One issue is that my camera follow distance doesn't seem to save between log-outs, even with the top box checked for 'enforce settings on startup'. This happens if I modify the max zoom factor cvar to 4, and also if I use the built-in max camera follow slider on the addon options menu. Slightly frustrating.
So, nameplateMaxDistance command doesn't work anymore in Classic, but what about BfA? It used to work before the hotfix, I could limit it to whatever I wanted. I actually don't want it to be higher than 25 yards (or whatever the aggro range is), as I'm trying to use them only for mobs I'm in combat with. It's a fucking nightmare now in crowded areas and places where mobs are below or above you, the screen is a total mess (no offense, I know it's Blizzard's fault), is there a workaround?
After a while, this addon causes combat lag in classic. Every time an ability hits an enemy (causing damage), my game stutters. A workaround is to reload the UI, but the issue reoccurs after some time. The more often you hit enemies (ie dungeons), the faster the issue reoccurs. Disabling the addon seems to have fixed the issue.
anyone know what the script would be to enabled name plate for enemies. want to add it to the view distance. as a macro. so i can hit it and make sure its on. for some reason the keep tuning off or distance resets to 20.

You can double click anywhere on a row in the cvar browser to open an input box; hitting enter will save its new value.

Being able to increase the nameplate range past the intended limit was a bug and has been patched.
There isn't (and won't be) another way to do this.
