Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:

The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.

Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.

Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars using the new API introduced in patch 2.1.

Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.

*Global Cooldown

Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.

Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).

Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.

Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.

Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.

Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.

Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.

*Tradeskill Merge

Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.

Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.

I've successfully downloaded and installed Quartz. Unfortunately, the "/quartz" command isn't working to pull up a menu in game. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if it applies to all timers but the mirror timer thing that comes up counting down the start of a battleground or arena match appears to be counting down too quickly. I notice that every time the chat frame pops up the Arena start time (at the 30 and 15 sec, at least) the timer has to readjust back up to 30 or 15 seconds.

I've noticed since 3.2 Quartz will not save my custom bar settings. Everytime I log in it's in the same spot but the texture has been reset to default. I have to go into the settings and copy from the default profile (even if it's set to default profile) to restore my prefered texture and look to the bar.

EDIT: One time during this copy from default procedure the thing got a bit messed up and the latency red section actually extended into the border of the bar instead of just the bar itself. I actually found that look preferable I just wish it would do it again.

I've noticed a little different behavior. Single rune abilities trigger the GCD spark, but Death Strike does not.

Overall, the GCD seems to lag quite a bit, but then again, this is only while in unholy presence, so it may be a CPU issue.

A few versions ago the GCD module changed where you no longer have to configure a spell for the GCD bar to trigger. However this "broke" that part of the addon for DKs.

I assume Quartz checks the last spell you cast for the gcd. For DKs this doesn't work. For instance I have 2 blood runes. I cast Blood Strike and the gcd bar triggers. However when I cast a 2nd Blood Strike the gcd bar doesn't pop up because my first blood rune isn't recharged yet, so the game displays Blood Strike as having a CD equal to the recharge time on my first blood rune which is longer than the gcd.

With the old GCD module (which I still use because of this) I could just set it to watch Death Coil and everything works fine because Death Coil doesn't use runes.

I'm wondering if there's any chance of either always monitoring Death Coil for DKs, or adding back the ability to configure your own spell to monitor.

Great Addon, but have a question.

I am building my own UI ATM and want to use my own texture for the Castbar.. Have added the texture and started up WoW but the file i have added doesnt shown up in the texture list for castbars..

Anyone have any idea how to fix this??

The best addon for castbar, but not works with 3.2 ((

This from the latest PTR notes:

•Casting bars under the target frame, focus frame, and nameplates will now display as shielded if the cast cannot be interrupted.

If this is achievable with non-Blizzard frames that would be great.

Is there anyone else having the problem that setting the width of castbars is limited to 5 pixels at a time? It's highly annoying, as I've now ended up with my castbars either 2 pixels too short or 3 pixels too long in relation to my kgpanels actionbar and and player + target frames.. Yes, I'm slightly a perfectionist :P
