127 - Morgdkp2 instruction video

What is the task?
I was busy once again yesterday to instruct one of my guild members on how to use Morgdkp2. Perhaps it is an good idea to make an instruction video. Since I'm already doing livestreaming, it should be easy for me to create something. The end result would be one or more instruction videos on youtube. Would this be a good idea? Would you like to participate in this (e.g. by doing some of the talking)? What topics should we discuss?

Preliminary outline:

Video1: Setting up eqdkp classic with the morgdkp2 plug-in.
- Covers how to get the plug-in to work with a classic eqdkp installation.

Video2: Eqdkp classic and Morgdkp2
- Covers the import and export process between the add-on and website

Video3: Morgdkp2 in-game usage.
- Should cover things like initial setup, e.g. fortress needed
- The entire process of starting, looting, adjusting etc.

This way, once we get the eqdkp-plus plug-in done, we could make a movie that only covers that part.

Created an instruction on Morgdkp2 and EQdkp. See the movie at: For me, this was the last movie, as I will not have time in the near future to make another one (I'm travelling for the coming 9 weeks).

Seems that adding annotations to outside youtube is a partner only feature :-( Anyway, I have made the video publicly available. Can you link to it on the curse site?

Thanks for the feedback. I have created a new movie: Once I have added the youtube annotations to make the links work, I will make the movie public available.

Say you are running the weighted random module. In this mode winners are determined by a random roll based on attendance.

    1. Morgalm - rolls 80 with 100% attendance = 80
    2. Blue - rolls 100 with 90% attendance = 90

So Blue wins. If a new member to the database joins the raid (ie a new raider) they will have 0 attendance which means anything they roll for they will end up rolling 0! To avoid this you can set a minimum new member attendance so they don't roll 0's. We usually used 10% (default) so if they rolled a 100 they actually see a 10 roll.

    Hi Morgalm,

I am busy updating the video. I managed to address point 1 and 2 so far. However, I don't understand your third point. Could you elaborate? Or perhaps provide an example, so I understand what this option does?

Thanks for the feedback. I hope to have some time tomorrow to change the video to address your comments.

Looks great so far! Couple notes of spots you seemed unsure of what they did.

    1. Invite dkp format - simply controls the sorting of the invite tablet (shift click icon) by either dkp balance/earned or total attendance. ie if you invite by attendance it is handy.
    2. DKP listener - should be automatically set correctly by who is the masterlooter. If you don't masterloot then you have to set it manually.
    3. New member initial attendance - for attendance based DKP systems (especially random) set a minimum above 0 so that they actually get die rolls higher then 0
    4. 0 DKP for looted pattern - DKP charged was 0 because you rolled offspec and were running th mod with offspec % set to 0!

I made a first version of one of the videos (i.e. video 3). Take a look at and let me know if you like it and what should be changed before we make it public. I still need to add the youtube annotations, so that the links work, but I will do this after your comments :-)

Great that you like the idea. Could you make a post with the stuff you would like to have in the movies (and in which ones)?
