Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Show your location coordinates.
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

    @EthanCentaurai: Go

    It works now. For me the boss frames are quite small.

    Update: First pull on boss, it worked, we wiped and I was ressed inside instance. On second pull, frames were back at minimap again.

    Update2: Next pull it worked again, no idea why.

    I've made some very ugly changes and I think I've solved it. Please test v2.6-12 and let me know what happens.

    I'm having the same issue with v2.6-6-g14b8bbd.

    I am running latest version (v2.6-6-g14b8bbd) and still have problem with boss frames.

    Moving bosss frames seems to work when I configure addon, but as soon as I get in combat in raid, frames are moved back below minimap.

    Managed to die in a raid and while out of combat I moved the frames again, it looked like it worked, but after a few seconds the frames moved back below the minimap.

    Boss frame support (movement/visibility) has been added back in as of Version 2.6-3 and onwards. The code still isn't optimal but your much-loved features are back.

    Navigate to Interface/AddOns/Chinchilla/Chinchilla.lua and replace WatchFrame:SetHeight(700) on line 177 with WatchFrame:SetHeight(500), save the file and then reload your UI. That should do the trick. :)

    The width is handled by Blizzard's code; Chinchilla simply provides a shortcut to the Wider Objectives Window setting.

    @Barfolomeu: Go

    I've disabled it for now pending a code re-write. In its current state it is more trouble than it is worth. Don't worry, I want to bring it back and it will be much better than before! :)

    What happened to the boss frame mover? I noticed that all the boss frames moved back to their default location. Are they no longer tied to the minimap? Inquiring minds want to know.

    @ethan - where would I look in the coding then to adjust it to like 500 or so? I play on my laptop quite often and at 700 in length it's a bit long for my liking...I can deal with the width as it is.

    I plan to add the title/button hiding options to the Appearance module at some point but I haven't yet decided what to do with quest tracker resizing.

    Too many people got confused with how it worked (I'm not kidding) so I removed it and forced the quest tracker to be 700pixels tall instead. It will do for now but I'll keep an eye out and see what the community wants. :)
