Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.
- Appearance
- Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
- Compass
- A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
- Coordinates
- Show your location coordinates.
- Expander
- Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
- Location
- Show the name of your location more flexibly.
- Move Buttons
- Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
- Ping
- Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
- Position
- Position the minimap and frames around it.
- Range Circle
- Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
- Show / Hide
- Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
- Tracking Dots
- Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
- Zoom
- Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Bufe Nov 23, 2014 at 09:32 UTC - 0 likesChinchilla Minimap no longer shows those blue areas when tracking quests... It shows on some of my chars, but not on all...
Anyone know if this is a wow-client feature? or Chinchilla minimap feature?
Anyhow...how do i Re-enable it?.... Makes it hard to see when i am not in an area where i get kills for mobs etc...
EDIT: Seems there is an option for tracking "Track PIOs" on the minimap...which seems to be it. Sorry for the bother.

schmed11 Nov 17, 2014 at 15:38 UTC - 0 likescurious if anyone can help me. i have the current version installed (2.7.1) and everything works fine except my quest objective/tracker is acting strange. ive been trying to position it on the right side of my UI , so i check the box to move it (it turns orange) and i position it where i want it, when i uncheck the box that should lock it in place it repositions itself in the lower right hand corner of my screen so that all thats visible is 'objectives'. no matter where i move it on my screen, the minute i unclick the check box to lock it in place it zips back to that right hand corner. the only way i can get it to stay visible is if i move it really far up to the top of my screen, but theres a very small area where i can move it where it wont dart back to that bottom right corner the second i uncheck the box. i dont have move anything or quester installed - are there any other addons you can think of that would interfere with this function? any help is appreciated
thanks

defessus77 Oct 15, 2013 at 11:18 UTC - 0 likesSince boss frames was the only issue I have, I am still using latest version. As a workaround I changed from Pitbull4 to ShadowedUnitFrames that have customazation of bossframes.
So for me it's not a issue anymore that I can't move them with this addon.

Thanks for the update. I didn't mean to sound ungrateful or entitled and I got nothing but admiration and appreciation for you. I agree that for this project working/consistent positioning should be the priority.

Believe it or not, the frames being larger was a bug, which in turn created more issues especially with positioning the frames.
This is the default size of the boss frames as defined in Blizzard's XML code.
I may add options to make them bigger again in the future, but I want to get the positioning working first and that will require a huge re-write of that module's code.
Also, I am only one man working on multiple projects, as well as trying to support my fiancée and her child. It will get done. I just don't know when yet. :(

Almost same exact issues as Lisiya. Frames are small and no options to adjust their scale. Frames worked on first boss pull but then didn't work. Reloading the UI didn't seem to fix the issue.
