nQuestLog
Questing minion
---
August 20, 2009: I have started the tear-down/rebuild of this addon and will keep this description updated as I go. My path will be:
1) DONE - Thanks Fyrye. Update the libraries so we can get it working without yelling at you, albeit with a bit of tweaking
2) Update the code to work with the new questlog api
3) Recode and reduction of external library dependancy
the 1ine: sorry for the late reply. Looks like they changed some things in their [tags] code so it didn't look ok. It should be fixed now, try the fix again. :)
have it set to hide blizzard and display in raid warning frame, but the progress updates appear in both. plz help! kthx
But yes - there is still some dust settling with the API changes blizz have made.
I have done the .lue editing mentioned below.
Any ideas on what my issue may be caused by??
I'm getting this error. It also seems to be causing problems with another addon.
2009/04/16 12:42:27-1347-x25]: MobMap-MobMap v3.30\MobMap_itemdropdata.lua:90: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'data' (a nil value)

As you can see, it says nQuestLog stuff in there a lot.
however, that looks as if nquestlog is not interfacing properly with mobmap, maybe do a fresh install of both addons (delete the existing addon folders and download unzip install fresh copies of both and dont forget the quick fix for nquestlog). I must also add that I use tinytip for my ingame tooltips so it isnt beyond possibility that blizz has changed some stuff there that tinytip is bypassing.
Kaistina: Did you try my 5minute fix a few posts down? (Below vsaR 1SK's immense post) but i've copy-pasted here so it is not lost for people looking for help.
Quick fix for most of the users of this addon -
open interface/addons/nquestlog/modules/blizzardframes/blizzardframes.lua with notepad or similar and do the following:
- search replace "QuestWatchFrame" and replace it with "WatchFrame" (1 instance of this)
- search replace "QuestWatch_Update" and replace it with "WatchFrame_Update" (4 instances of this)
- save the file and that's that as far as I can tell atm.
All other addon-breaking issues seem to be external to nquestlog so check your other addons if this applies to you (my UI consists of over 80 addons! so if it works for me and other people..)
Just an FYI in general - I am not maintaining this addon, nor do I have any intention to do so, I simply use it myself and have some experience with lua, so I looked at the problem and fixed it.
Aside from the minor issue with nquestlog not being able to surpress the default tracker frame (you can do this by shift clicking quests in the blizzard-default questlog anyway) it all works fine for me, so thats as far as I'll go with it. I'm not too mythered about the duplicate objective updates in the message frames either if anything it helps me as i often find myself missing them updates so now I get it twice lol
Hope this will be fixed :)
gg baze11e tks for sharing :)
Works great!
