Addon Description Magic Runes is a set of bars displaying rune cooldowns. It's meant as either a replacement or addition to the normal Blizzard rune display.
Fantastic addon dhedbor I love it already . Fits in really nicely with the rest of my ui . The blizz frame looked distinctly odd up against pitbull and elk bars lol .
The reason for this is because it's relying on the periodical event for its updates. With the new release however, the values change gradually but you have to poll for them which my quick current implementation doesn't. Frankly the runic bar is a quick hack and more proper implementation will require more the planned rewrite. The data is correct, just delayed.
dhedbor: as other people say, freshly downloaded, removed all other addons, it simply doesn't who up in interface->addons. In fact if its the only addon running Addons doesn't even show up. I imagine its either a problem specific to this build, or theres some dependancy that you don't have packaged that is required to get it to work peroprly
I probably messed up the library dependencies. I will verify and fix this tonight, leveling be damned. Thanks for pointing it out. Not sure when I messed this up as I haven't changed dependencies as far as I know.
1) Press escape to get the main Blizzard menu.
2) Choose Interface Options
3) In the top left corner there should be a tab named "AddOns".
4) Find Magic Runes in the list on the left side of the window.
I hear you on that. Currently I'm using the "bar less" layout - it's not as clear as I'd like but when leveling it works well. However I am definitely going to look into "combo bars" which combine multiple runes without losing valuable information (such as when the 2nd rune will come out of cooldown).
Really love a way to stack the bars for each rune type, or just move each bar individually. Having 6 or 7 timer bars all in a giant block is difficult to find space for.
To configure it either use an LDB (LibDataBroker) displayer like ButtonBin, Fortress or StatBlockCore OR simply go to the Blizzard Interface options => AddOns (all the config is in there). There are no /commands. Also right now with the latest version, it will not load unless you're on a DK so you won't see anything until you make your DK.
I like the looks of this addon but don't know how to work with it. Are there any /commands we should know about? I'd love to have it working tonight when I create my DK.
Anyhow, as per the UI discussion, I think it would be awesome if we could optionally make the bars somewhat transparent until the time remaining was less than a GCD. That way we'd know that a rune was about to become available and there wouldn't be any time to use another ability. It's probably worth actually measuring the GCD somehow, but initially just assuming 1.0 seconds for Unholy Presence and 1.5 otherwise would be ample.
Definitely my preferred rune add-on. Love it. :)

Maybe also an option so when they countdown they only do it as an integer cause when you get 1.1 on like 3 of them it overlapse.
Maybe also an option to flip the bars so they are vertical and maybe be able to change the size and transparancy.
Otherwise best rune addon I've tried! <3

Otherwise, great addon!
And this is a "favourite" add-on mentioned on the EJ DK DPS thread: http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t36303-death_knight_dps_compendium/
Grats!
