XLoot Frame

Notes about new version and the major changes made

If you are experiencing more than one problem, please make sure you completely remove XLoot and download it fresh from here or the Curse Client.

After that, please create or comment on a existing ticket with your error(s)

All options are available via /xloot or Interface -> AddOns -> XLoot (/xlm toggles Monitor's anchors, /xlg toggles Group's)


XLoot is a small group of addons which improve looting in WoW by replacing default frames.

XLoot Frame
Replaces the Loot Frame, adding more information and behavior/appearance options.
XLoot Group
Replaces Group Loot frames, modifies Loot Alerts/Bonus Roll frame
Group frames display current roll choices, the rolled numbers, and the winner.
If you experience any problems rolling on items, please disable XLoot Group and post a report with any error.
I understand this may cause you to lose out on a item, which is extremely unfortunate.
However, I am unable to debug it myself as I no longer play, but welcome any errors or volunteer debugging efforts.
The rest of XLoot can be used safely without Group.
XLoot Monitor
Shows a "toaster" for looting items, similar to Guild Wars 2, allowing you to either more visibly see what you and others loot, or remove loot messages from your chat box all together.
XLoot Master
Provides a more convenient Master Looter menu

Any of these modules (Frame, Group, Monitor, Master) can be disabled like any other addon if you do not want their functionality.

Masque Skins

Not all Masque skins will work without adjustment.

Please see XLoot\skins.lua (Comments at the top) and then XLoot\SKIN_TWEAKS.lua (See examples and add tweak for skin here)

Old versions

I understand that these are large changes and may take adjustment. If you have suggestions as to how to improve the mod or something you want from the old version, please let me know.

    I am so happy you decided to do this! I'm actively going to start using the releases from here on and will report on anything I find. Keep up the excellent work =)

    I was about to suggest (haven't looked at code yet) to just do

    hooksecurefunc('BonusRollFrame_StartBonusRoll', self.BonusFrameOpen)
    hooksecurefunc('BonusRollFrame_OnHide', self.RemoveBonusFrame)

    and nothing else regarding BonusRollFrame.

    From code review it looks that all code paths end with it hiding:
    - either through GroupLootContainer_ReplaceFrame()
    when the roll ended with winning an item or money or currency
    - or through GroupLootContainer_RemoveFrame()
    when the roll ended through expiration or passing

    Edits with some more detail.

    We'll see if z3d will fix it. Problem is, I'm not exactly sure what is guaranteed to be called when it should be hidden. I'm tempted to HookScript("OnHide"), but I wasn't clear if the GroupLoot frame handler did the hiding or not - which wouldn't work, because it gets removed from that group.

    Everything below concerns z3c-alpha.
    BonusRollFrame works functionality-wise but doesn't hide properly.

    BonusRollFrame is what it looks like when it's stuck.

    It's hard to debug mid-raid unfortunately.
    /dump BonusRollFrame shows .state = "finishing" among other properties.

    Some more information, this happens when you actually pick one of the options (roll or pass).
    I didn't let it expire, it might hide properly then (looking at XLoot_Group code it tries to remove the frame when .state = "prompt" and that appears to be happening only if the prompt is left to expire).

    Additionally /run XLootGroup.RemoveBonusFrame() from the command-line when it's stuck has no visible effect.
    (I think the anchor removal and restacking works because next time the bonusrollframe is shown it occupies the same spot but the visual artifacts are not affected)

    /run BonusRollFrame:Hide() does get rid of it.

    Monitor is teh brokeshits right now. I will be porting it shortly. I may think about synchronizing the "Snap to mouse" option with the default UI, that's a good suggestion.

    @Lombra: Go

    As in this, "XLoot", will now include the Frame and all plugins in one package (It will unpack itself, so you can disable parts you don't want or need).

    This means it will also look and behave like 1.0 does, so if you have input (specific, please) on what you like about it that you don't like about 1.0, now is the time to speak up

    I'm ready for a big overhaul! Best ever loot addon man, I tell you. :D

    Posted a ticket with the latest alpha...

    ------------ FOUND THE MOUSEOVER ISSUE! ----------- Untoggled Interface options\game controls\open loot window - Check Unselected xloot 1.0 snap frame to mouse - Check BUT! You still have to unselect /xlootmonitor options -> Xloot options -> Behaviour -> Snap xloot to cursor

    You should synchronize these options please, this was annoying as hell! :DDD

    Error in alpha (latest alpha):

    2x XLootMonitor-r112\locales\esES-Spanish (EU).lua:1: attempt to call global "AceLibrary" (a nil value)
    XLootMonitor-r112\locales\esES-Spanish (EU).lua:1: in main chunk

    error is repeated for all localization files.

    Hi, what kind of gigantic update are we talking about? Is the top of the project description no longer accurate? Are you going to maintain both this and the 1.0 version? I much prefer this version, so far, so I'm curious!

    If you aren't ready for it to break, I would stick to Betas. It's heading into a gigantic update.

    That said, I really do appreciate you testing the Alpha and reporting the error! I'll push another alpha when I find the issue.

    Please post any error messages in full on http://www.wowace.com/paste/ and link them here.

    Edit: I just tested it and it seems to be working fine. As always, it's annoying, but please delete WTF\<Account>\SavedVariables\XLoot.lua

    The loot on mouse feature constantly show loot box below mouse even though I turned it off. I was using an older but working version just recently upgraded but now its killing me totally! Again: I'm turning it off but constantly showing on the mouse, I've turned the option off on both on interface options and xloot option. NO ERROR MESSAGE.

    You're alpha version is broken, error message related to translation and libraries (not updated ace maybe?). Please fix, thanks!

    Hello, guys. first of all ty all for making this addon. i've used xloot since wrath. i appreciate the ongoing updates. i want to stress many thanks, this saves so much time and makes looting so much nicer. i do have one suggestion/request, could you guys create a "roll box" that shows class icon /roll player rolled (if player rolled twice) highest roller on top(auto show) and award highest roller on that box top selection to work/anounce with reg menu loot system.

    for quickie looting while doing xmog runs or even raid speed runs. (time is normaly a key factor on wow obviously)

    fyi - you guys don't have to consider my suggestion at all. i'm just trying to contribute. please don't sick a forum mod on me like that tidyplates guy.

    This suggestion is basicly from "raid roll" addon, raid roll epgp, raid roll- loot tracker.

    i would only like to run 1 loot addon and i think/like xloot more so yeah
