74 - "/ss macro" -> "/ss group"
What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
"/ss group blank" would work like a modified / simplified version of "/ss macro blank"
3.2.2.09 added a mechanism to expand speech lists from "/ss macro" into the originating event during the process of selecting the speech. This was intended to correct the RNG to equally distribute the chance to select every possible speech in the cascading groups of default mount macros.
Unforutnately, using that feature all the time automatically conflicts with the fact that "/ss macro" events have their own separate settings for which scenarios are enabled, cooldowns, and frequencies, which SHOULD apply if one of your speeches is a "/ss macro" call.
3.2.2.10 changed that feature from automatic/always to a manual button that would effect a permanent change on the originating event by copying the contents of the /ss macro into the event that you're editing.
Though potentially useful, that flavor of this feature is still really not the desired result.
A future version should add an additional option LIKE /ss macro, but MINUS all settings for how often/when to speak.
A "/ss group" would not have any channel or cooldown options - it would be only the speech list.
Technically speaking, and for clarity of use, let's say all of the options in a "/ss group" are forced to 100%, always on. This way it can also still function as a stand alone event, in a simple form that's forced to always use a default channel in all scenarios.
"/ss group" can then be safely expanded in-line the way "/ss macro" was in 3.2.2.09 as a method of tackling the RNG

rismisner Wed, 07 Oct 2009 07:41:48"/ss group" references in the Edit Speeches GUI call for some additional features - new buttons that show up similar to the buttons that magically appear if you have a "/ss macro something" reference, but different buttons for "/ss group"
A) a button to show/edit the contents of the group as a sub-group of controls replacing the edit controls for your "/ss group" - like the copy inline feature for macros, but doesn't actually copy, just shows you an interface to the shared speech list.
B) a copy button just like the button for macros
C) a goto button to set the selected event to the referenced group
So I guess it's just add A for groups, and rename the labels/tooltips, and maybe tweak the behavior very slightly for B and C from working on macros to groups.
