Ingela's Absorb Tracker
Updated for 4.2. Please report any errors or bugs.
Description
Ingela's Absorb Tracker is an addon that tracks the current absorb amount on your target.
It currently tracks:
- Power Word: Shield
- Divine Aegis
- Illuminated Healing
- Blood Shield
- Sacred Shield
- Ice Barrier
- Guarded by the Light
Still not sure what to do about Savage Defense.
Ingela's Absorb Tracker also have Tank mode which makes the addons to see only your own current absorbs. Useful if you're a tank and need to time cooldowns with absorbs!
Ingame commands are /at or /absorbtracker
To do:
- Find out what to do about Savage Defense.
Maybe add some kind of animation to know when it changesdone- Add so it shows when you mouse over something
- Check list to enable/disable which spellIDs you want to be tracked.
Willing to help out?
With increasing downloads and popularity I might give this some more functions to please a bigger user base. Got any suggestions? Willing to beta-test? Got any errors? Please post a comment below, PM me or use the ticket system on wowace.

jlam Mar 20, 2012 at 17:27 UTC - 0 likesThe Guarded By The Light changes in the most recent alpha make an assumption that is not always true. The assumption is that if GBTL is up, then it will absorb all damage regardless of any other absorption aura that is currently on the player. This is definitely untrue in a variety of cases:
In the three (non-exhaustive) cases listed above, GBTL will not be used first.

Do you have any irc? How can I talk to you in real time? You can find me at freenode on "Ingela" or on quakenet as "Lejving"!

Hey! this is first addon i had my hands on. Took me a while to get used to LUA from object oriented programming, but think i nailed it. And yes I would be honored to help you maintain it :)

It's totally fine. How experienced are you in making and maintaining addons? I do not play wow anymore so if someone could maintain it... that'd be great :)

raymix Feb 13, 2012 at 01:53 UTC - 0 likesHello, Ingela!
I've simply added Savage Defense ID inside core, and it worked, runtarget() takes care of it perfectly. The way it works is simple - SD is not additive shield. It can only be refreshed. This is simply because value of shield is based on how much AP you have, unlike others - based on how much dmg or crit you do. Otherwise bears would be overpowered. Think of it as an absorb cap...where value applied is always max Difference from DK absorb shield, or PWS for example is that it can be applied more often, way more often! While bear keeps dodging quite a lot, this gives ability to keep shield refreshed almost full time.
edit: got gbtl to work together with other absorbs. The correct values for absorb can be found within following argument params:
SWING_MISSED - 14th arg
SPELL_MISSED - 17th arg
SPELL_PERIODIC_MISSED - 17th arg
found them using /etrace
I hope it's ok with you, that i changed code?
Best regards, Big fan of addon, Ray.

Jitaan Dec 18, 2011 at 13:25 UTC - 0 likesHooray, turn out I'm just an idiot! Checking "Load out of Date Addons" in the AddOns settings at character select solved the problem; tested it out and appears to work just fine so far :).

Jitaan Dec 15, 2011 at 03:25 UTC - 0 likesUpdating for 4.3? I used your Rapture timer religiously, after coming back to WoW I sorely want to use it again. Found this addon as a result of going to submit a support ticket for the Rapture addon, and this one looks equally awesome, so was wondering if you plan to update this one as well!

I use the mouse-over feature, and i was wondering it you would add an option to have the text show up at the mouse when you mouse over someone?
Thanks!
