Pane and Options

Deus Vox Encounters (DXE) is a boss mod inspired by RDX. It is designed to be functional, efficient, and customizable, so you can change what you want and how you see this addon.


  • Automated: Activation, starting, and stopping of encounters is automatic

    • Customizable full screen flashes

    • Customizable sounds: Packaged with 18 distinct ones
    • All alerts can be adjusted for all encounters
    • Audio countdowns can be activated for certain encounter alerts
  • Raid Icons: Marking on important events with an icon of your choosing
  • 3D Arrow: Directional arrows tells you where to go on important events
    • Two types:
      • Away: Directs you to run from a player or a location
      • Toward: Directs you to run to a player or a location
    • Ability to play a sound when shown
    • Displays your distance, to a player or location, in game yards
  • Encounter Pane
    • Boss health tracking gives you more awareness of fights
    • Engage timer tells you how long you've been fighting
    • Shortcut buttons provides easier access to common commands
    • Conditions to show the pane only when you want to
  • Version Check: View addon and encounter versions of raid members
  • Distribution System: Allows you to send encounters to the raid or individual players
  • Profile System: Switch settings between your characters
  • Modular Design: Encounters are loaded in appropriate zones
  • SharedMedia support

Getting Started

When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:

  1. Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
  2. Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
  3. Folder Icon: Opens a drop down menu to activate encounters
  4. Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
  5. Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows

Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe for commands. There is also a minimap icon, which can open the configuration dialog.

Mists of Pandaria Update

  • Encounters: Patch 5.2 and 5.4 encounters have been implemented.
  • Features: New Message, Inform and Debuffs alerts and more new Alert Options.
  • Localization: Please visit the localization page for Mists of Pandaria translations.
  • Proximity Radar: A customizable radar is now available, too.
  • New Plugin: Lag Tolerance.

Please visit the localization page to translate in-game phrases. It is open to anyone with an account. The most important phrases are the chat triggers for bosses, because they start encounters. However, not all encounters are started by chat triggers. The rest of the phrases are for display purposes. The following languages need a maintainer:

  • Korean (koKR)
  • Russian (ruRU)
  • Simplified Chinese (zhCN)
  • Spanish (esES)
  • Traditional Chinese (zhTW)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (ptBR)
  • Latin American Spanish (esMX)

    @Creylius: It's not a feature. I plan on adding a small manabar to each health bar soon.

    @Milanh: If you can provide a combat log of it I could fix it. Unfortunately I don't run Ulduar anymore.

    Would it be possible to add a bar for Deathwhispers Mana Shield? Or maybe that's in there somewhere I'm not seeing?

    I have noticed that in the last two versions, during the Mimiron encounter "Bomb bot spawns" netiher the sound nor the Flash Screen are working to indicate that a Bomb bot has spawned.

    i tried to reset it and still no indicator of any sort.

    @nummy: You're right. I fixed this in the latest alpha. I had the cooldown set at 30 seconds when it should instead be 40 seconds. Many more alerts were added in the latest alpha for the last 3 of the 4 bosses.

    @phaulen: Use /dxelb for local bars. You can see the options in Alerts -> Bars -> Custom Bars

    Hi. I am running version 409, and it seemed like all of the timers for Saurfang were off. I had both dxe and dbm running (maybe that's a mistake) and the dbm timers for blood beasts were correct. I didn't see the dxe notification on blood beasts until their third spawn and even then, the timer was off. Wiped a few times, but this was noticeable from the first attempt. Is this a known issue or maybe there is something wacky with my local copy.

    The other icc bosses were fine.

    @gen, perfect, was out-thinking the room, it would appear that you'd need to be raid assist to use it, any option for it being local only?

    before posting an enhancement, I figured I'd post just in case it's easy to do what I'm trying to do w/o it.

    It would be nice to be able to add custom timers to the list, either by /command or script not unlike can be done with dbm (/dbm timer duration text) and I believe BW has similar functionality as well. I often use these features in macros to add custom timers/cooldowns so I have all my important timers in one place.

    I took a look through some of the code to see if I could find a function that does what I'm looking for but didn't find it.

    Thanks for any guidance.

    Can u add a warning for the silence casted by the big skeletons, the trash before Marrowgar?. Thanks!

    @escafoxx: I'm not entirely sure why it would be using 90mb. I didn't majorly change anything internally this patch. Maybe it could be a library embedded in it using that much memory. I'll try running the packaged version and seeing if I experience it.

    @Jaidan: Gothik spawn timers weren't added because the encounter was completely trivial. DXE can track pretty much anything in-game. I've been busy for the last week (finals) so I haven't gotten in every timer I want to. You'll see them soon!

    @bunshun: The three bosses needed chat message triggers translated. I'll package a new release soon.

    @genetik: The ticketing system is better because I might lose track of comments.

    @mclagett: It should be fixed. It's a lower bound I found in one log.
