Getting Started

When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:

  1. Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
  2. Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
  3. Folder Icon: Opens a drop down menu to activate encounters
  4. Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
  5. Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows

Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe for commands. There is also a minimap icon, which can open the configuration dialog.

If you mean UNIT_.-_VEHICLE events they don't file for the valks kollektiv. I just tested this tonight.

Apparently there is a vehicle event so I don't have to use scanning. It can be reimplemented to use it.

i was trying to configure my grid to show players "in vehicle" for valkyr detection, but it wasn't working at all for some reason. i'm fairly certain the problem isn't my combat log, though, i've had no issues with normal mode or any other events

and for the valkyr warning, i was thinking more along the lines of dxe running a constant vehicle check every .5 seconds for 10 or so seconds after he summons them (the 3rd valkyr lands /really/ late sometimes), just printing out warnings every time it detects a player in vehicle

that might use up too many computer resources, though :(

@Mushgot: I'm not sure why it's not going off every time. It could be that your combat log wasn't working? I'll look into it this week.

It may be possible to make the warning go off when someone gets picked up. The issue is that there is no event to tell when someone has been picked up, so a timer is scheduled to list all players that are in vehicles  (picked up by a Val'kyr) after 6.25 seconds. I will try to  time when players get picked up and see if the time's are consistent. If they are, I'll add in separate warnings for each player.

the dxe announcement isn't working reliably on hard mode

many times, the warning fails to go off at all - and when it does, only shows up a few seconds after the 3rd valkyr lands (im guessing this is intentional, but the delay sort of defeats the purpose of having the warning to start with)

is there a way to make the valkyr warning go off the second someone gets picked up? (as 3 separate warnings, if necessary)

@Galvin, kollektiv and I both raid with the alphas so very stable. About the only thing you'd notice right now is having to adjust your icon/text size after installing it because of new config options. But that's pretty minor.

How stable are the alphas? When's a new release coming out?

@VSUReaper: 5 man encounters will not be made for Wrath. It might be a possibility in Cataclysm.

@suicidalkatt: There's a text justification option in Alerts -> Text.

Great addon. Wondering if there are plugins/modules for 5 man encounters. They are handy for doing achievement runs.

I'm really not looking forward to going back to DBM, even if its just one little part of the addon.

Is it possible to have the text on the warning bars aligned to the center of the bar instead of always to the left?
