Deus Vox Encounters (DXE) is a boss mod inspired by RDX. It is designed to be functional, efficient, and customizable, so you can change what you want and how you see this addon.

Features

  • Automated: Activation, starting, and stopping of encounters is automatic

  • Raid Icons: Marking on important events with an icon of your choosing
  • 3D Arrow: Directional arrows tells you where to go on important events
    • Two types:
      • Away: Directs you to run from a player or a location
      • Toward: Directs you to run to a player or a location
    • Ability to play a sound when shown
    • Displays your distance, to a player or location, in game yards
  • Encounter Pane
    • Boss health tracking gives you more awareness of fights
    • Engage timer tells you how long you've been fighting
    • Shortcut buttons provides easier access to common commands
    • Conditions to show the pane only when you want to
  • Version Check: View addon and encounter versions of raid members
  • Distribution System: Allows you to send encounters to the raid or individual players
  • Profile System: Switch settings between your characters
  • Modular Design: Encounters are loaded in appropriate zones
  • SharedMedia support

Getting Started

When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:

  1. Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
  2. Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
  3. Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
  4. Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows

Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe to open the configuration dialog. There is also a minimap icon.

Warlords of Draenor Update

  • Encounters: Highmaul, BlackRock Foundry and Hellfire Citadel have been implemented.
  • Party Module: Party support has been added.
  • World Boss Module: World Bosses support has been added.
  • Features: More new Alert Options and Spell descriptions on Options.

Localizations

Please visit the localization page to translate in-game phrases. It is open to anyone with an account. The most important phrases are the chat triggers for bosses, because they start encounters. However, not all encounters are started by chat triggers. The rest of the phrases are for display purposes. The following languages need a maintainer:

  • Korean (koKR)
  • Russian (ruRU)
  • Simplified Chinese (zhCN)
  • Spanish (esES)
  • Traditional Chinese (zhTW)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (ptBR)
  • Latin American Spanish (esMX)

    thanks for updating DXE!! but it dont work on german clients :( can you fix this pls? :(

    Kerecha, you have an addon that uses the new Ace 3 changes or you downloaded the new Ace 3 and I don't think Shuang has made it compatible with the changes.

    Atramedes encounter for me showed 8 gongs available (on normal). Probably a bug and should be 10 gongs on normal and 8 on hard.

    Maloriak add counter was not working for me.

    Shuang, might want to start a github so some of us can help you out.

    Shuang, was gonna try your 520 version but i get

    when clicking the button (options open this time) and getting simmilar errors when loading encounter modules.

    Not been able to test if the encounters actually trigger, but for the past few versions they have not.

    Good lord. There are now 6 or 7 pages of us posting back and forth in comments about changes to this o0. Guess a few of us really love this mod, eh?

    I probably won't be tossing much up here for a while after this because...

    1. we've cleared all but 3 of the bosses so far, and those 3 are ones that work rather well already
    2. its alot of downloading, unpacking, ect for each minor change
    3. I'm going to actually go through and make a real fork here... and as part of that I am actually going to be doing a re-write on a decent chunk of the code to place more emphasis on the part of the mod I most like - ease of encounter development.

    I *really* love the invoker and schema concept the DXE authors created and the increadible power the distributor has in such an environment... so I'm going to build on it. Placing emphasis on enhancing the experience of writing up the encounter files through expanded syntax, tools and ect.

    Hopefully I can get a working variant up soonish. In the meantime I leave you with 520 - a few more bug fixes and encounter tweaks, enjoy :)

    I think it has to do with the new Ace 3 :( need to update stuff to work with the new ace changes

    EDIT: Well got it working again. Had to download an old Ace 3 and an old version of arkinventory that didn't have the newest libraries

    EDITx2: So Atramedes counter worked but it seemed to be decreasing by either 2 or 3 for each gong hit.

    This is with the changes i posted before.

    I've made alot of changes to actual core stuff, honestly.

    Some of which is required for the new encounter files I tossed out.

    Every number jump I've put out is either a bug fix or a major update change.

    Shaung, did you change the libraries? I am getting errors in the loader and can't open the config anymore

    Might I suggest removing the encounters for Citadel, Argent, Halion, and whatever at 80 for cleanliness.
