I was wondering if the following feature might be interesting.
THE PROBLEM------------------------
In the most common layout, a players portraits (player, target, target of target) are on the top of the screen, and the action bar on the bottom, which means you have to keep your eyes moving all over the screen while fighting. To prevent this, many people, including myself, have their player+target+target_of_target portraits somewhere in the bottom of the screen. This is mostly useful when playing PvP where you are only interested in yourself and your target.
When playing a dungeon however, you are often interested in the other people in your party aswell, a small problem however arrises now. The portraits for your 4 mates (assuming a 5 player group) are located in the topleft of the screen, however your own portrait is still on the bottom, which kinda amplifies the original problem of having to look in too many places while fighting/healing.
WORKAROUND------------------------
1 solution would be to have 2 different Xperl profiles, 1 for PvP (with the portraits on the bottom) , and 1 for PvE (with portraits in the default locations). One could switch between these profiles whenever the situation warrants it.
I was however considering another option.
PROPOSED SOLUTION------------------------------------
The "Party" module of Xperl could have an option called "include self in party" which would make the party frame consist of 5 instead of 4 portraits, the 4 partymembers and "yourself".
This would in effect create a situation where the player portrait (yourself) is shown twice. Once in the location selected for the player portrait, and once with the party members.
The pros of this solution should be fairly obvious, the UI now satisfies both PvP and PvE roles for players such as myself.
The only con i can think of is that this shows the same information twice. From a interface designer point of view this sounds like a stupid thing, however as a player i must say it appeals to me. Obviously an option such as this would not be enabled in the default configuration, so it would not adversely affect uninformed players.
