    What is the issue?
1.) I am trying to get my Loot window to look Like "Xloot Example 1.jpg"
Why does the addon display the item level of the loot in the details of "Xloot Example1.jpg"
This is what my loot window displays atm "Xloot Example2.jpg"

2.) Is there a way to 1.) Cap the number of rows in Loot Monitor to say maybe 10 or 2.) a check box to or not to check mail in the loot monitor. See "Xloot Example 3.JPG for details.

Any help with these issues would be wonderful, love the addon just looking to tweak it a little if that O.K.

    Have a great Day

Please provide any additional information below.

Alright, so let me try to separate this:

Old loot frame appearance: Not exactly that, no. That appearance is a artifact of the old skinning system. You can get a similar look with one of the included skins and tweaking some of the color options, but not exactly the same.

Why does it display item level in img1: There is no item level displayed in image 1. I'm not sure what you're asking here.

Cap Monitor rows/disable mailbox loot: Not that I'm aware of, no, sorry.

I am sorry for the confusion. Let me try and clarify what I am trying to ask or say.

If you look at Xloot_Example_2.jpg. It is a screenshot of group loot from a dungeon. The information displayed is as follows

Seconds left to roll on the item - which is 172 Name of the Item - which is Legguards of the Crimson Magus Pickup status of the loot - In this case its BOP 1 person has selected greed 2 people have selected DE

This info is good, yet very incomplete

Xloot_Example_1.jpg - is a screenshot on the curse client website of a older version of the addon I believe.

In this screenshot we can see

The type of loot the item is and a description

    Again the info is incomplete.

I was asking if there are settings in the addon to enable more info to be displayed

The information that I personally want to see is as follows

    Item slot - Hands / Chest / Feet / Head / Trinket / Weapon

Item Details - mace / one handed sword / cloth leather / quest item

Bind Status - BoP / BoE

    Item Level - 463

The words should be red if I cant equip the item, if its a Mace and your a mage, the word "Mace" would be in red bc I cant equip it

If the addon doesnt have a place to enable these setting I was asking if you could write addon to show this information :P

Love the addon was just looking for it to be improved. If these changes were made with the information that is already dispayed you would on need to mouse over the gear to check stats, if you even need it to begin with

Basically combined what is there in Xloot_Example_2.jpg with Xloot_Example_1.jpg and the others details I wrote

That was the 1st part of my question / request

    --------------------

The 2nd part was I wanted there to be a limit on the number of lines the addon displays on screen at a time with loot monitor.

    In Xloot_Example_3.jpg

there are 13.16 lines displayed in an ascending order on the left side of my screen

I was asking if there was or could you make a setting to adjust the number of lines displayed at a time.

For example 1-10, with this it would be rolling in an ascending or descending order (which is already a setting in the addon)

    --------------------

If there is anyway I could learn to edit addons or you can make this all happen that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.

    @Minusman77: Go

Show all details in both group frames and loot frames

I'll be blunt. I appreciate the suggestions and it's not entirely unreasonable, but I'm just not going to do this. That's a ton of work figuring out what needs to be shown and how the frame needs to be sized to fit it.

On top of that, that's what the tooltip is for. There's plenty of mods that improve the tooltip.

    Limit visible monitor lines

This is, of course, possible. However, little of the required work is done in the addon. I appreciate that it's annoying when you loot everything from your mail and it spams your screen.

But, really, it comes down to the fact that I don't play WoW any more. I haven't for years. I keep XLoot functioning and possibly implement simple features while I'm at it.

    Working on it yourself

I don't see why this would be a problem. Addons are pretty simple when it comes down to it.

Unfortunately XLoot and its modules are made in a modular and somewhat roundabout way, so it may be more confusing than simpler approaches.

Don't let that stop you, though. Everything you need to get started is available for you.

Depending on your experience with any kind of programming, here's what you'll want:

    • A text editor with Lua syntax highlighting and, ideally, linting/syntax checking. I suggest Sublime Text. You can use it for free.
    • http://wowpedia.org/Portal:Interface_customization has many helpful links, mainly the API and Widget API pages.
    • If you get into it, you may want to use Git to track your changes against the repository, and eventually submit a patch. Github has helpful tutorials, and there's plenty on the internet. It will be helpful outside of addons if you're interested in programming at all. git://git.wowace.com/wow/xloot/mainline.git

As far as the relevant sections of the addon, you'll probably want to start with XLoot/Modules/Frame.lua | XLoot Frame/Frame.lua. This is the main file for the loot frame, and contains the function Update. Update handles filling out each row for the frame when you loot.

The BuildRow function sets up each item row the first time they are needed. (If you're using Sublime, Ctrl+R lets you search through functions)

Throttling monitor updates would be more complicated, I think, I'd start with the loot frame.
