WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

Was the hardcrash on minimize fixed? Whatever it is, it's tied to the "Window Animation" option. It wasn't consistent, but it was the -only- cause. As someone already pointed out, it's not working with the 3.5 fubar anymore, and are we going to get tabbed chatting back? That was the main reason why I switched to WIM over Forgotten Chat Revived. I can have anywhere from 1-5 whisper conversations going and tabbing was a godsend. Please please please bring it back.

WIM, Prat and Atlas use a data object called DataBroker to add compatibility to Titan and Fubar. If you are having trouble with all three, you should be posting on Titan's bug reports not WIM's.

While I'm here, I would like to report a problem I am having with QuestHelper... See my point? I wont get any help here.

I played with it a bit ingame. When selecting WIM from Titan, I'm given a dropdown box with "show icon, show text, show colored text, show right side". Right side is selected, all others are greyed out, and I have nothing on the bar.

If I deselect right side, I can select either or both text options. Nothing happens.

I cannot select show icon.

I'm at a complete loss. All the titan builtins show up fine, and the new titan guild works no problem. But that's it. WIM, Prat, Atlas, all will not show up.

Yeah. cause I wrote this mod. And Titan. And Prat. And Atlas. So I'd know they use a certain whatever to talk to each other. And then I'd know that that certain something must be bad, cause the options don't give me, you know, any options.

My question was about WIM not functioning with Titan. I have two ways to go. WIM, or Titan. Since WIM is the mod missing old WIM features, I asked you first. And you responded by being a jackass.

Simple answer, not happy with the project, don't use it.

It's easy to say you are not happy, it's not easy to receive, since it is not just from 1 person.

WIM is great, features are different from the new remake, understandable.
Try telling WoW to fix something and see what happens.

Gonna confirm that. I switched from WIM m3.0.2b to WIM 3.0.1b4, and it seems to be working perfectly. No errors at all, that I can tell.

Confirmed version 3.0.2b does NOT work on beta but works fine on Live.

Reverted back to 3.0.1b4 and it works fine on beta and live.

i've an intresting problem with WIM... by german client:

everytime somewhere whispers me the first time/login, the first whisper will repeat ever and ever... no end... all whispers after the first whisper will show 1 times... no repeat...

sry for my bad english... ^^

error clarify if they're running WIM 3.0.2b on Live or WotLK beta please?

My errors are happening on Live 3.0.2b. I'm having a very large chunk of errors that are rolling in one after another, I just turned it off. When I get a chance I'll put the list up on that paste2 site for you to take a look at. I'll need to sort through the tons of other errors that are funneled to Swatter on a regular basis :P
