What steps will reproduce the problem?1. Choosing outline in icon text2. Choosing outline in normal text3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?drop down shadow on icon text and normal text. There is no option for that. There is only a drop down shadow option when creating a progress bar.
What version of the product are you using?2.05
Do you have an error log of what happened?no
Please provide any additional information below.
I just moved from weakauras 1 to weakauras 2 and the first thing that i noticed is that you can only have a drop down shadow for your text if you select to create a progress bar. In the previous version you could also have the drop down shadow for icon text and normal text. This is messed up for me, cause my custom font is hard to read now.
This shouldnt be too hard to fix since the fontstring is being inherited from a predefined object somewhere in the code. I tried searching for it but I cant find it :( Is there anyway we can fix this?
So the reason this hasn't been done yet, isn't that this is complicated to implement or hard to do, but that adding another option to the text display adds complexity to the user interface.
I do have a idea on how to create a user interface that looks clean and yet works for that case, but too little time at the moment to work on that.
And secondly, today someone asked for vertical justification. Which allows for e.g. aligning text and inline icons. That's in a similar place, the feature does have some uses, but with the current interface we can't really add another option.
just add an extra option to the 'outline' dropdown (when creating a text aura). This doesnt break the user interface.
Atleast this solves the demand for shadow under text. This request has been asked for many years now.
Do us a favor please.
+1 on just adding an option in the Outline dropdown. Many other addons do it that way. I don't see any problem with the UI here.
+1 to what oiFrango said.Like Details, ERT and many others, a simple dropdown or tick box for basic shadows would go a long way to what a lot of people need.
Obviously don't know implications behind adding it, but if it's something simple (even if it's technically out of place) then it'd be really appreciated!
