This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
This addon is abandoned. Please switch to SmartRes2
Soon enough I will need testing for the Alpha of SmartRes2. Keep in mind all that the word "Alpha" means... probably buggy, might not work, throws errors, etc.
I will need all the help I can get at that stage, as I am writing the code blind right now; my WoW account expired August 2, and between finances and going on a vacation from the 16-23 of August, I am not renewing my subscription until after.
If you browse to the wowace.com site, and search for SmartRes2, there will be an Alpha in the next few days before my vacation. However, as I said, it probably won't be ... usable. But I will appreciate all the bug reports I can get.
First: Res-Message have to be "Wirke Wiederbelebung auf %t" for the german client, but i cant change the variable -> "Validierungsfehler" -> validationerror
Second: Smartres works only for my battleres(Wiedergeburt) of my Druid.
The normal res(Wiederbelebung) seems to be unknown
hmmm thats a problem. I don´t know anything from lua and localisation files.
revive = Wiederbelebung
rebirth = Wiedergeburt
SmartRes-deDE.lua last 4 lines:
for example:
["Failed to res %s"] = "Wiederbeleben auf %s fehlgeschlagen.",
in my chat i would write: Wiederbeleben auf %t fehlgeschlagen.
["%s is resurrecting %s"] = "%s belebt %s wieder",
i write: "n belebt %t wieder
["Resurrecting %s"] = "Wirke Wiederbelebung auf %s",
i write: Wirke Wiederbelebung auf %t
["%s: %s"] = "%s: %s",
hmmm. Don´t know what this line does.
%t is the variable for the name of the target.
%n for my own name. But i believe that these commands the same on all clients.
Don´t know what %s is.
Do this information help you? If not, tell me where i have to look.
Checking... In any case, between trying to fix SmartRes, I am writing a whole new SmartRes2 that (hopefully) fixes all these nagging issues with the original. I don't have an ETA, but it is nearing completion. Since I only know enUS, it won't be localized for other languages, but it can be done.
Sorry for the long delay in posting a reply. Having looked at the code, I am noticing the same bug. The Druid in-combat res keeps showing up, whereas before it didn't (and it isn't supposed to, either). There are other annoyances as well, and honestly, the code is a mess.
Therefore, I have devoted my coding time to the replacement, SmartRes2. I still use SmartRes listed on this page when I play the game, but I would call this addon functional (barely) yet depreciated.
If you like this version of SmartRes, by all means please continue to use it; however, when SR2 is ready and posted, SR1 will be replaced.
Sadly, for you faithful, that means that until SR2 is out, I am not working on this version. Should one or more of you like to help fix this until I finish SmartRes2, please send me a message. If not, no worries. SR2 will be "better, stronger, faster" :-D
My onyl question is if It will be more complete. Not that SR1 isn't, but I still notice that it doesn't always capture when someone starts casting a rez spell.
I certainly hope so. Before patch 3.10, SmartRes was working great, but now, it isn't. Before SR2 goes live, I will do my utmost to test it thoroughly.
Not sure why you say it isn't ready to play on ptr/live 3.1
by editing the toc file and removing the # in front of all the lib calls and removing the @no-lib entry at the top and bottom of the lib list, it works perfect fine on Live 3.1 right now.
Babymonk, SmartRes 6.00, which you downloaded via WowAce, is an alpha, and so not finalized. Plus it seems you downloaded the no-libs version, which is why your copy gives the file not found errors.
Also, it will NOT work on live, as it is designed for the PTR/3.10 of World of Warcraft.
If you really want to play on the PTR with SR alpha 6.00, then get the version that comes with the libs.
Downgrade to 5.11 of SmartRes to play on live. You may want to delete the SmartRes folder from your addons directory first. Your savedvariables should be OK and stay intact.

Weird, it shouldn't be out of date, and I'm not seeing any such flags. SmartRes does work with WoW 3.0.x and higher. I will check again after 3.10 comes out to see if there are any API changes.
Plus I am still working on SmartRes2 in the little spare time I have. SR2 will eventually replace the original SR.
I can't seem to change the keybindings...
When I try to change the autores keybinding to another key, it doesn't save it. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

See my answer on Curse.com for your error, Kelem.

Addon still shows out of date, so that might be some peoples issue.
