MoveTalkingHead

Table of Contents

Makes that message dialog movable with Shift-Left-Click

You can move it by shift-clicking and dragging
It can also be scaled with the mouse wheel (while pressing shift)

Note that the frame will be made click-through when not holding shift so it doesn't block quest givers or mobs underneath it, but if you want to right-click the frame away you need to hold shift as well.
This does not work with ElvUI, which already supports moving it with /moveui

Slash Commands:
/th 0.8 - - - - sets the scale to 0.80 (can be between 0.50 to 2.00)
/th reset - - resets the position and scale

I like to use the Immersion add-on, as well as this one. I'm running into an issue though. Every time I zone, I have to /th 1.1 to increase the size of the TH at the top of the screen. For some reason, the setting isn't saved. I really like Immersion, yet that add-on doesn't increase the World Quest TH size, only Quest-givers. Is there a way to have them both work? Thanks.

Thanks man. Yeah it just seems the 1.1x scale isn't sticking. I actually leave the WQ talking head at the top where it usually is.

The TalkingHeadFrame and ImmersionFrame do look almost the same. Did you try setting it to a ridiculous big size to see if it stays the same size? Maybe there is another addon that is interfering with MoveTalkingHead?

I realize it's a bit troublesome since the slash command only works once the talkinghead appears (LoadOnDemand) :s

Hi again. Didn't realize you can only use the command during a window pop-up. So it stuck through all the zones btw - just tried several. I exited the game, then went to Azsuna and it had been reset. Idk if it matters, but Azsuna had been under Legion attack.

I will try your new version. Ok I will wait for the update. So essentially, it was working for a while, until I exited the game.

Is the command something I need to do each time I play the game?

No, just using that command once should have been enough. If it still happens with v1.3.1 it might be another addon (other than Immersion?) that could be interfering

Got your new version installed. Unfortunately, the same problem is occurring. I have to set the /th size once a game - and it sticks now no matter what zone I go to. After I exit the game and start again, its size is reset. I tried disabling Immersion and the same issue occured. I tried disabling EVLui but then your add-on didn't work.

Any ideas? I'm using things like: Tidy Plates, Bagnon, Details!, Immersion, MSBT, OmniCC, Pawn, SexyMap, WeakAuras and DBM.

P.S. When I log in, I get a lua error:

"Message: Deferred XML Node object named DC_DropDownMenuButtonTemplate already exists

Count: 5" - I'm not sure that is your add-on though.

Oh, you have ElvUI installed. From my own experience MoveTalkingHead doesn't work when ElvUI is loaded, both the position and scale get overridden https://streamable.com/m30hd

I should probably clarify that in the project description and an in-game notice. I don't know if there is an option in ElvUI to increase the size of the TalkingHead but you can move it with Toggle Anchors or /moveui least

The DC_DropDownMenuButtonTemplate deferred XML error is not related to MoveTalkingHead fyi

Thanks for getting back. So your mod should work w/o ELVui right? I guess it needs MoveAnything then? I'm guessing there must be a setting in ELVui that is counteracting the frame size. Yeah, I know about toggle Anchors thanks. I'll ask over in the Tukui discord and get back to you if I figure anything out. :)

Yes, it should work without ElvUI. Maybe there is an option in ElvUI to change the frame size. It doesn't need MoveAnything. Sorry for any confusion

I figured it out! There is an ELVui setting on the General tab called "Talking Head Scale" - that was interfering with your add-on. Mystery solved! Thanks for all your effort in trying to figure this out. :-)
