Misspelled is a chat spell-checker addon. Misspelled watches the chat messages you type, highlighting any misspellings and offering suggestions for any misspelled words it finds.

I've included in the US & UK English dictionaries some Warcraft specific proper nouns, including the zone names, and all dungeon and raid boss names. Your friends and guild members are also automatically added, and shouldn't get flagged as misspelled words..Misspelled utilizes the HunSpell style, affix (prefix/suffix) compressed dictionaries. The same ones used in Chrome, Firefox, and OpenOffice. Misspelled provides suggestions based on words that phonetically sound like the misspelled word, along with providing suggestions based on common mistakes of spelling. While Misspelled can detect nearly the same number of individually correctly spelled words as OpenOffice, it's suggestion engine, is "somewhat" less complicated, than the HunSpell implementation.

Misspelled includes dictionaries for US-English, UK-English, French, German, Italian, Russian (experimental), and Spanish. The appropriate dictionary, for your game client locale, will auto-load, or you can manually choose what dictionary to use from Misspelled's Interface/Addons options page.

Misspelled works with WIM (Wow Instant Messenger), and is compatible with: Prat, Skinner, and Chatter.

Usage note: Spell Checking is performed as you complete each word you've typed. The last word in the chat box, isn't spell checked until you type some form of word terminator, either a period, space, or some other word separating punctuation. Spell checking is very fast; but isn't performed needlessly, while a word is being typed.

Misspelled is compatible with Wow, Wow Classic/Wrath/Cata If you are having problems with Misspelled, please try updating or disabling all other chat addons you may be running.

I know you said when first loaded it's 5.7mb but for me it's not, it's what I said before 11.8mb.

This is on fresh reboot of system, start the game, enter game, and without typing messages to anyone or in any channel it's 11.8mb. I would love to see it be 5.7mb =) Tell me how?

American/English server localization not German.

No other mod is required to use Misspelled. Do you see the addon options page, under interface options? If you do, Misspelled should be loaded.

Are you using the US English Wow client, or some other version?

Misspelled may have thrown some error. Turn on the option to show addon script errors, and reload, to see if that give back any additional info.

Does this take some other mod to run because It doesn't do anything for me. Even when loaded alone with no other mods nothing happens when misspelling a word.

The suggestion generation is being called every time a misspelled word is found. In the next version, I've changed it so suggestion generation only runs when you right click a misspelled word. This change will remove much of the delay you're seeing.

I should have an update ready tomorrow.

I noticed that this addon seems to lag me quite a bit when I go back through a line I typed to correct mistakes, it seems like its checking every character correction. So if I type a whole line then go back and try and correct spelling manually its quite a painful hit.

Adding support for the Spanish esES dictionary is taking a bit longer than expected. This dictionary, and many others I hope to implement, require the suffix and prefix methods to be UTF8 safe. I'm guessing I'm 75% complete with my efforts here.

Additional good new, the suggestions generation and ranking code has gone through another level of optimization. In the next version, you'll see fewer, and better suggestions being returned.

Wow just found a rather stupid error. Suggestions were not being generated for words with one bad character that didn't match any other misspelling rule. Example: (fishez)
The fix for this will be in the next version.

I believe I am having the same issue but with recipe radar and atlas loot enhanced containing Spanish words (my QH has also stopped working but I am unsure if this is related). Using enUS client and server.

Thanks for helping test.
r28-Alpha inadvertiently contained some testing code used to force the locale. I'm sure that was the cause of the problem.
r29 doesn't have this issue.

I've got a bit more testing to perform on the changes I made, to implement the Spanish dictionary, before I'm ready for an updated general release.

r28 makes MobInfo spit out an indecipherable (to an ignoramus like me) error in Spanish, then populates the entire MobInfo frame with Spanish....

I'm testing the Spanish esES dictionary now. I'll be releasing support for that shortly. I'll add the other enXX dictionaries you requested ASAP.
I'm plan to add a Wow Addon Options page so you can force a specific dictionary to load.

As far as auto-correction. I would like to add some support for that down the road. I want to first add spell checking to the in game mail edit box, and get Misspelled working along with WIM.

I have been looking for an addon like this for ages. Thanks heaps. Is there anyway to add an alternative dictionary like enGB/enAU instead of enUS?

I was wondering if you could a an auto-correct feature, that users could configure for themselves. IE. i -> I (don't know if this is already done) or alot -> a lot. Overall I think this is a great addon with a ton of potential.
