MinimapTarget

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Out of combat, right-click on minimap blips to open a targeting menu. This is intended to be used by those classes with tracking capabilities, like hunters and feral druids in cat form. Just to be clear: this cannot work in combat.

MinimapTarget comes with an MinimapTarget_Decorator, an optional module that adds class, level and reaction information to player and pet menu entries. Data are passively gathered from guild roster, party/raid roster, battleground scoreboard and when the mouse hovers over characters and unit frames. This module can be safely disabled at character selection screen.

Please report any issue using the wowace ticket tracker. Please actually check existing tickets to avoid creating duplicate ones. Please include detailed description of the issue, including were you where, what you wanted to target, and if you were using a minimap addon. Also make sure you enabled Lua error reports and are reporting any error message related to MinimapTarget.

I just tried it again without Chinchilla minimap and Carbonite to make sure they were not conflicting. Still the same.

Inside this BG, I could only target 2 friendly targets out of 15. I could taget friendly pets fine too it seems.

I could not target any enemy players except their pets.

Is there any common pattern about the player you can target and those you cannot ? Like their name containing non-ASCII characters or player from other realms ? Also does it work outside of BGs ?

Any useful input ? Does it work outside of BG ? Are you using some addon that modifies the minimap tooltip ? Does the tooltip or player names contain anything more that names ? Does it fail with all players or only players from other realms ? Does the menu open at all ? Any error messages ?

Sorry, I should have known better.

I'm Ali and it does work on friendly players in SW. It did work there before this update.

When I get in any BG, I can click on the name of a horde, but it will not target them.

I dont' use any mod that modifies the minimap tooltip. I do use Carbonite and Chinchilla minimap. MM target has always worked fine with those. I don't modify tracking dots.

There are no error messages.

It looks like it's caused because of the new system on minimaps that shows when a target is above you or below you.

It lets me acquire targets that are inside buildings or caves, but nothing outside.

ok but how does the stuff from the mini map get alerted to you currently?

i have to sit and click on the mini map get a menu, then select something.

can it not be configured like it is described for it to work? is it working for anyone?

try "spy" for something that alerts you. Minimap target is a great addon if you are trying to target something from the minimap. That is it's soul purpose IMO.

it would be cool if the minimap decorator had a slash command to open the options for it. i can't find the way to configure any settings for this mod, i want to see class colors and levels.

hi there the ability to target from mini map is there, how do i engage the actual information? nothing comes up.

the ability to acquire a target from the pop up has been intermittant. I usually cannot a target from it.

The menu pops up in the minimap, but I can't target from that menu. Is there a config I need to do?

I can't see this in the addon's tab under interface.
are there commands such as: /minimap menu or /minimap config..?

Again, thanks for updating on this, it's my favorite addon.

Thx for the update Adirelle, is there any possibility that your add on read from combat log and identify class and the level of the enemy in the minimap outside BGs like ICU and Spy do ?
