About MaterialsTracker

This added was originally created by Shamino but was not updated since Draenor era.

MaterialsTracker will keep track of the materials required for your known professions, and keep counts on what are in your bags, banks, guild banks and mailbox on all of your toons. Simply hover over an item, and if it's being tracked, counts will be shown in the tooltip.

This was inspired by Shamino's other addon EnchantingSeller, which has this functionality built-in, however only for the Enchanting profession.

Tooltip

The tooltip will tell you...

1. how many on you
2. how many in bank
3. how many in your mailbox
4. how many on other toons
5. how many in your guild banks

Usage

These steps should be completed for each character:

1. Open each tradeskill and craft frames. MaterialsTracker will record all the materials for the profession. Please, close each window after few seconds, not reopen another trade skill instead.
2. Visit the bank. MaterialsTracker will record counts of materials stored there.
3. Update your bags. Just move an item in your bags. MaterialsTracker will record counts of materials stored there.
4. Visit your mailbox
5. Visit the guild bank. MaterialsTracker will record counts of materials stored there.

Add-on authors have the ability to do whatever they want- That is what attracts many to making add-ons, the ability to customize it the way THEY want. I always take it as an act of charity that they share their work with the community, so if you refuse to reform to their choices, I say make your own add-ons.

AuctioneerSuite-5.1.3984 is the most recent beta version, available directly from the auctioneer website http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/#preview

You are using a version that is 3 months old.

As I already stated, it is not broken. The Gametooltip is now programmed differently. I'm not going to support 2 different methods, so I have chosen to use the newer method.

So you'd prefer supporting an unreleased, unstable, untested method over a released, stable, tested one? That seems a bit illogical to me - I for one am not going to be forced into relying on beta versions just to get this one mod working, giving up on all the others who have wisely decided to support the stable one. That's just, pardon the French, bullcrap.

Good mod, but it's a shame it's unusable now.

i certainly do not intend to support 2 versions of Auctioneer, and I'm not waiting until the next expansion before the guys at auctioneermod decide to release the next version. the most recent beta version works just fine.

you make it sound like this is software running the space shuttle. i've used the unreleased version of auctioneer for a couple months now. Thats enough testing for me.

I'm certainly not asking you to support two versions. I'm just asking you to support the one version the community as a whole knows works well for them. Sure, YOU might have used the beta version for months. YOU might be satisfied with it. But how does that help ME? Or any other using the addon, or any of the addons relying on the RELEASE version of Auctioneer?

Maybe it's not running a space shuttle, but you'll have to agree that any software should be based on authenticate, stable grounds, no? There is a reason to why the BETA version is called, yes, BETA.

lol, that is a funny statement. i suppose when you start paying me to create and maintain an addon for you, I would consider making sure something works perfectly for you. until then, i create addons for myself to use, and then extend them to the public to use.

Ah, my apologies, I was under the impression you were making this addon for the community as a whole. Then just disregard every point I've made and keep to what keeps your boat floating.

I have the same problem, and my Auctioneer is of the latest release. I even tried reinstalling it, and the same error still happens. Next I tried the /mtracker tooltips command, but the command in itself is broken.

A fix for this is very much appreciated, I'll have to turn MaterialsTracker off until it's done.

there is no fix for it, as its not broken. you have an older release version of Auctioneer. Visit http://auctioneeraddon.com/ to download the most recent version of it.
MT has been updated to provide the same embedded tooltips as the latest Auctioneer, right now your version of Auctioneer is using an older method

Please listen: I am using the latest version. I redownloaded it just three hours ago. It's not that my Auctioneer is out of date, it is using the latest stable version available, the one released the 24th of October 2008. That is the latest release on the addon website (from which I downloaded it). That is the release I am currently using. And it's not working.

I'm having this same problem as well. I'm also using the latest version of Auctioneer (version 5.1.3715). Shamino, are you using a development build from their SVN or something? Perhaps you could tell us what version of Auctioneer you're using? Is there anything that we can check that might help in tracking down the problem? Thanks for a cool mod, BTW.

tooltips work fine. have you installed EnhTooltip and Stubby as required? more detail as to what the problem is, will result in better help from me

- tagging as release version. things appear to be working well now.
- dbversion incremented. this will reset all your tracked materials. you will need to open your professions, and visit your banks/mailboxes to relearn/recount
- refactored db table creation. AceDB does not appear to function as it should

- added tracking from the guild banks. counts are stored separately for each guild.
- tooltip counts will only display for the guild you belong to, use /mtracker item <itemlink> to see counts for all guilds
