Loan Officer

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Introduction

Loan Officer is an addon for tracking loans made to other characters. I started this addon to track the money my auction house character handed out to my other characters. Loan Officer uses the Ace3 framework under the hood to provide some of the essential services addons need.

Beta v0.1.4

The current release of Loan Officer is a beta version of the addon. This means it's basically stable and won't trash your UI (probably). Please remember that during this phase of development, the code is still fluid, so I'd like feedback on improvements or new features. If anyone has ideas for things to include, please send me a PM or open a ticket in the ticket tracker. Optionally, you can send me an in-game mail or /tell to my development character (Gnomebody) if you're on Icecrown (A).

Usage

To bring the addon up while in game, type:

/loans
/loanofficer

Does this addon have a way to track all of the loans made without having to type in a name?
For example say I have made four loans and it has been a while since I have recieved a payment from one of my borrowers but I don't remember who it was, this can be a problem in a large guild

i'm looking for a way to track all gold that i loan to other people playing world at warcraft not just my account will this also do.so i guess what i'm asking if i loan you gold can i track that also.

there isn't really any way to delete a loan. What I would do is just add a credit to the account to balance it out, and leave a comment explaining why. Let's say you issue a loan for say 100g, but decide later that the loan should go away. You can credit 100g to the account to bring the outstanding balance to 0.

That's similar to voiding a transaction (but not really). I do want to add the ability to void line items, though. Hopefully I can get that into version 1.0.

I have a question. How does it hold this information? I ask because I play WoW on 2 different PCs (one at home, one at work), so I need the info to be global between the 2. This add-on looks like the ideal thing for me to use if it is global.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can do that. The data is saved to the SavedVariables location, which is the only way to persist data as far as I know. That information is stored per-machine.

this looks great, is there a way to have it interface with the Guild bank, if the officers all the addon?

What type of interaction did you have in mind? Something like sharing the database between the officers of the guild? I think that has some potential to be very useful, but I'd need to plan it out a bit before I started working on that :)
