console commands would be nice for waypoints.

for example, in TomTom, you can;

/way #[zoneID] xx.xx yy.yy [Description Name]

I would like a compatible command for HN, but add an optional icon to it;

/hn #[zoneID] xx.xx yy.yy [Description Name] #[IconID] 

it should probably be the last string, make it optional, and because it's last, easy to omit, and for compatibility with /way

I would much rather use HN over TomTim, for the better icons.

It's tedious entering way points as it is for more than one at a time.

Importing files would help a lot too.
