As it is right now, I think it's impossible to setup the way I would like. As a party, I want to have the group 5 people across, with pets underneath, a 5x2 grid from side to side.

In a raid, I would like to have a grid that starts skinny and gets wider the larger it gets, not taller. Having a full 40 man raid as an 8x5 grid.

I messed with the settings tonight for over an hour, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it, so I think it just isn't possible to do without being able to swap raid and party layouts between horizontal and vertical groups individually.

If I'm wrong, and there is a way to do this already, can you give me some tips? I have googled, but can't find much.

You can create different profiles for different group types: solo, party, mythic raids, flex raids, etc  ( Profiles -> Advanced Tab) and then  configure a different layout orientation in every profile , assigning layout and group anchor points ( General Tab -> Layout section at the bottom).

Ok, I had tried that, but it was making my frame bug out, however I believe that was just because I had the layout setup incorrectly...

The only problem I have with this solution is that I will have to update each of the profiles with buffs and debuffs, and if I have to add a buff or something, I will have to remember to do it again on the other profile.

Grid2 +r839 versions implement "Themes", different themes can be defined for different group types or raid sizes.
