Buff/Debuff Groups Don't Show Stacks on Icons #268

What steps will reproduce the problem?
    1. Create a Buff/Debuff Group
    2. Add an aura to the group that stacks (e.g. the Discipline Grace talent)
    3. Bind the Buff/Debuff Group to an icon indicator

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to see the stack text on the icon like I do when I create the same buff/debuff outside of a group but instead the stack text is not shown.

What Grid2 version and language of WoW are you using?
I'm using the latest version of Grid2 and the current enUS wow client

Do you have an error log of what happened?
There is no error associated with this problem

Please provide any additional information below.
Like I said above, the stack text shows when the aura is created as a stand alone buff/debuff but not when added to the aura list of a group.

Its working as expected. Stack count is not displayed for group of buffs. Group of buffs supports non exclusive buffs so if two buffs in the same group are active at the same time, there are two stack counts.
If you want to track stacks, create two individual buffs and assing the buffs to the same indicator.

Thanks for the clarification. I just started trying out Grid2 to see if I could make a full transition to it, but there isn't much documentation on how things are supposed to work so I interpreted this as a bug instead of a design decision. Grouping boss debuffs under one group seemed like a good way to decrease clutter in the config screen, but missing the stack counts makes that approach not so useful for organization.

I could add stack counts but the cost is a increase in cpu usage to process the buff list that i wish to avoid, and maybe confussion for the user, because displaying only one stack count when two buffs are active with different stack counts makes no sense.
Can you elaborate more about this issue ?, which group off buffs you want to display in this way ?

That kind of change really isn't necessary I don't think. It was more just that I didn't understand what the design intent of the group of buffs/debuff was. I was trying to use them as an organizational tool, putting for example all the debuffs from Dragon Soul that I want to see big icons for all in one group and then binding that group to an icon indicator. The problem with that is that as a healer I need to see the stacks for Deep Corruptions but the stack count doesn't show when it's in a group.

Now that I understand better the design intent of the groups and that there currently is no guarantee that auras in a group are exclusive in their activation I will just make individual auras for those debuffs that I do need to see stack counts for.

You can use Raid Debuffs module to track DragonSoul debuffs (its included with grid2), its more efficient and faster.

My only problem with using the included Raid Debuff module is that I like to have different types of debuffs display in different places. So something like Deep Corruption might be on a big prominent icon but the stacking Void Bolt debuff might be on a smaller icon off to the side. Since the included Raid Debuff module puts everything on the same indicator I still have to have individual debuff auras for those things I want to split off to a different indicator. That's where I got the idea to group those individual auras in an aura group simply for organizational reasons in the first place.

From advanced tab in raid debuffs options you can enable/disable debuffs or generate a standard debuff from a specific raid debuff  (Copy to debuffs button).
One posibility is to use "Copy to debuffs" to create debuffs for important raid debuffs allowing to assign them to another indicator. And use the raid-debufs status only for less important raid-debuffs.

That's pretty much what I ended up doing. I have the ones that are very important as individual auras and bound to a prominent icon, then just have the less important ones enabled in the Raid Debuff module and bound to a smaller icon off to the side. Over several tiers of content though this can lead to there being lots of auras in the debuff section though being able to prefix them like BossName>Debuff helps sort through them.
