What version of Grid2  are you using (Version is displayed in General/About Tab) ? v3.0.9

What game client version, classic or retail, windows or mac and language are you using ? Retail

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get shields/absorbs to show the way they used to. Previously, I had a multibar and tied them all to "health-deficit" but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore. And setting "shields" to the "health" indicator hides/overrides health changes on the bar completely.

People was using a lot of different configurations and layouts to display the shields, so i cannot figure out which settings are you using.

But keep in mind that due to the midnight restrictions the addon cannot check if a unit has shields or not, so you cannot use the old 

priority sytem to display several things on the same bar: for example now you cannot display shields and if shields does not exist display another thing like the health or health-deficit.

So if you link the shields to any indicator,  the indicator will always display the shields value, in the case of no shields it displays zero or an  empty bar.

You can goto profiles > New profile > create a new profile, select a new profile template: classic, blizzard or modern. and check the health-bar configuration of the new profile.

Those Grid2 default profiles now  are using a multibar indicator called health-bar to display health, incoming-heals, shields and heal-absorb, so you can check out the multibar configuration there.
